Ok so a sort of newbie thing but something I've never completely understood. How do you determine what size/spec shocks to get?
I have Lovells medium rate springs giving me about a 3.5 inch lift. I currently run Icon 1.0 shocks that are rated for up to 3 inch lift. That *should* be compatible yeah?
Apparently I need to lift the corner so the spring goes loose but stays captive, measure that, then remove spring and drop onto bumpstop and measure that, to get the correct full-extension and compression numbers. Anyone actually do that?
Most shock website listings don't specify their full extension or full compression limits - just that they suit a certain amount of lift.
what is the *correct* way to measure lift? From top of spring seat to bottom of bump stop at the front?
