was there an antique auction in town? saw what i believed to be a 109 4 door landrover on a trailer tonight also, 60's Ish

i'll guess at your question (no googling yet will after the post) VW truck 4x4 from the 70's custom or very rear like the 4x4 option on the rear engine van chassis.

of course I wasn't even a twinkle in my parents eye when this was produced...

I bought one of my 40's from a guy in Colorado that restores and modifies VW Vans and trucks. I'm no expert, but that looks like a VW single cab truck. If my knees weren't 2 inches behind the bumper I would be interested in driving one of these.

Reminds me of a corvair van I saw in olathe years ago.

However, given the lines and that exhaust, I would say VW .

When I saw it ahead of me on I-70 last weekend I initially thought of the Chevy CorVan. It was just before I snapped this pic that i realized the VW lineage. I couldn't get a good look at the front as this guy was tooling along at about 60 mph and traffic was pretty heavy pushing 80mph.

Officially a VW "Type 2" which covers all versions of the MicroBus from the 23 window variant to this pickup. The Type 1 was the original Beetle. Unbelievably these were produced in Brazil up till 1996. The common name for this variant was the Transporter.

@Flatlanderfj40 Take my advice and negotiate a slug-bug truce until you get on the plane.
