Well folks, I did it. Yesterday was my last day at AECOM, where I've worked for just over 19 years. I was unhappy there for the last few years after numerous reorganizations, changes in my bosses, and just corporate bull****. I've accepted a job at a smaller, more focused company and I start on December 7th. It's totally nerve wracking, but I think will be a good thing for me. My position was announced yesterday and I can finally talk about it in public now, so that's a bit of a relief. So here I go on another chapter...

Get it Girl! Congrats! My exit strategy is a casket...

Congrats Heather! You're a bad ass so you'll be fine. ;-)

It was a slow day in the garage at my office, so the boys mounted/balanced my tires for me.
BFG KO2s 315/75R16 laces in. Rubs front wheel well if some slight up travel and hard turn. New alignment with a little less caster will fix that (BTDT). Noticeably taller when I got in the truck to take a spin. Old KM2s were D-O-N-E, less than 1/8" tread, chunked, splits, etc.

The first ride was so QUIET and smooth. I could get used to this. Won't get to test offroad until sometime in January, likely gonna run Coppinger Cove with Onur and a couple others.

Let's talk Subaru Outbacks. I keep reading mixed reviews on these. I want to know if the 3.6R is a bad motor.

I picked up a 2009 for the daughter before she headed to Georgia Tech; it's a 4 cyl so I can't speak to the 3.6 engine from experience. Hers has been great. Took it to my long time friend, a 30+ year MB service guy who still looks after our vehicles even though we sold the last old diesel - he was very complimentary of it after doing the "this is why I hate timing belts" 100K service. You see these Outbacks all over TN & NC; everyone I spoke w/ up there about owning one loved theirs.

No reason to believe the 3.6 is a problematic engine; you just don't see as many around here. The one thing I wouldn't get near is the CVT. A cure for that now is to get one w/ the 3.6 since their 4 cyls are now mostly afflicted with CVTs [a slight personal opinion here].
