Anybody that pays $1000 for a washer or dryer is a fool. $700 for my present set and they have been going for 4 years so far. This is the first set Lori and I have bought since we got married. The first set of Kenmore lasted from 99 to 2009. I think I put a sensor in the dryer once and those little Teflon pieces in the agitator on the washer. They still worked when I donated them to a woman that had nothing. Amazing!

Yep!! Actually nope. Looks all pretty in the store, uses less water, has 40 different cycles and is still a POS! The biggest and cheapest set you can buy is the way to go.

Yes on fire,drunk. Not appliances I would get to angry! New national( made in China) standard is lasting 5-8 years if your lucky. Most are made by the same 5-6 year olds kids in china! It's almost impossible to do but I try and buy stuff made in USA. Can't find any clothing made in US. Screw it! I'm going to go drink.... F China!

American business men decided a long time ago to increase yields they had to make their product over seas. They didn't and still don't care about the long term consequences. Our legislators have done nothing but encourage it. Getting mad at the Chinese is like getting mad at the guy who screws your wife's brains out when she goes over to his house but not getting mad at her.
I go to China as much as anybody on this board and dislike them for other reasons but most of my anger is pointed at us. We want 30 cheap s***ty toys instead of 5 good ones for our kids. A lot of americans want something for nothing and don't want to work for it.
I think it is ironic that the Japanese, Germans, and now the Chinese still have a strong industrial base and we got nadda.
