It's back! The classic rear bumper for the Iron Pig, with a few updates. The new version complements the body lines a little more fully.

You will need to notch the rear crossmember for the receiver hitch.
Includes light cut-outs designed for the Baja Designs S2 Flush Mount reverse kit, or similar.
The bumper is not rated for towing.

Specifications:
  • 1/4” steel shell
  • 3/8” frame mount
  • 3/4” recovery points
  • Powder coating available
We will have this up on our store soon!

Lead time is currently set at 12 weeks, we have some things to take care of this summer, but we wanted to let you all start planning...

Now you’re talking!! Can’t wait until mine is ready.
Absent light cutouts it looks strangely familiar. Kinda like one you already have on Bonnie.

Jim I assume they will be very similar!
I didn’t look at anything else, and I assume Scott didn’t either.

Well, that came out wrong. We look at lots of bumpers, but we weren’t trying for “make it look like <this>”, we started with a scan of the one Mike did for @PabloCruise back in 2014, discovered a slight asymmetry, updated it a bit.

@samc2447 had some input.

Looks really great. Thanks for bringing it to market! I hope someone will update this thread when ordering goes live.

No complaints. Anything that improves from the oem “rear quarter panel damage multiplier” is a plus. You might have Jon take a pic when he can of how my local guy tied into the frame to strengthen the one on Bonnie for towing. It involved a longer tube tied to an additional cross brace bolted to both frame rails.

Truth be told, the rear bumper on Bonnie was an attempt to mimic the lines of the front winch bumper originally made at Iron Pig Off Road. Fair to call all this “evolution”.

I have one of the first IPOR rear bumpers, still works.

Our one-off version which Jon inherited on Bonnie. Angled the outside third on driver and passenger side a bit inward in order to mimic the IPOR front bumper. We can all call our versions "refinements" of your original.

Ok hold my hand here….is the towing option available like on the one @riderjgs posted? Where you slide the tongue through the bumper and lock it in with a pin or is the towing option an add on? I see the image in post #14 but I’m not understanding how it works.

Our rear bumper for the 55 does have a receiver option available!
When you go into the store you will see an option for powder coat and an option for the receiver.
Does that answer your question?

I did this on my 40 bumper. Pin is located on the backside of the bumper. You have to reach under, so it’s more of a pain. Plus side is I don’t have anything to hang up on back there. The receiver tube is welded on both sides of the bumper maximizing the strength. I didnt use a collar, I preferred the clean look.

That looks outstanding! Can they be customized to hug my rear quarter corner where all my sheet metal is dented in? The lines on that are perfect.

It’s a great nod to the original and yet should offer a ton of practical protection. I’m impressed.
