Colorado Higher altitude jets where to buy

I’d give @65swb45 at Marks Off Road a call.

If your 60 is still emissions equipped, one of the components is a high altitude compensation unit (HAC). If you’re still using the OEM ignition distributor with a dual diaphragm advance unit ( that doesn’t have leaky diaphragms) you should be able to do a quick function test by disconnecting the vacuum line connected to the outer diaphragm. HAC is activated at approximately 4900 ft, when disconnected the vacuum advance should retard (slow down) 6 degrees. Does that make sense to you? There is more to the circuit function that I didn’t even touch on…

No previous owner bought a crappy eBay carb
I sourced a carb here on mud

That would not be my first, second, or third choice of carburetor to run. Consider just these two drawbacks.

IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF CARBURETED LANDCRUISERS that is the ONLY carburetor that has the throttle shafts incorporated into the zinc fuel bowl, as opposed to being located in a dedicated cast iron throttle body. The softer zinc body wears out faster/ is much more prone to vacuum leaks.☹️

Also, it has an extremely anemic vacuum secondary that was abandoned after only six MONTHS for a strong, mechanical secondary…for the next five YEARS. Most of those’69s are really just 1bbls with wasted real estate.

Thanks Mark but this is what I bought so this is what I'm going to work with - Learn a lot on Mud - Wish I would have learned that before but well Its paid for and has to be light years ahead of what I have now

So then if this is the worst ever made in the history of the world

- What would be your top one or two
Thanks!
