I got a techstream knock off cable, 30 bucks aus

Good deal, should serve you well.

I did not want to have to grab a laptop each time I want/need to diagnose the vehicle and also wanted a unit I could keep IN the vehicle at all times. Hence my choice. 👍

i just bought a set of kings from ebay. it was a tad high. it came out to about 294 usd after shipping from au to USA san francisco

They quoted me $170 AUD for shipping.

I emailed them at 7p the 18th. They are 13hrs ahead of CST and they emailed me back a half hour later confirming. Sent an invoice through paypal which I paid. Nothing yet confirming shipping but they have excellent reviews and paid through paypal so not worried. Just received all my bushings so can do work once springs arrive. They always prefer working from front to rear...

Anyone have luck with used non-AHC springs? Seems like they can be had for <50$ and should??? drop the pressure about the same as King??? I saw someone did this and said they got his pressure down to 6.0, another thread states that King will reduce the pressure by 3.0 and non-AHC springs will reduce the pressure by 3.0+ depending on how worn they are... any other experience out there???

From what i've read here at MUD LC springs will give a stiff ride unless you are heavy heavy loaded. I'm running spacers which dropped mine close to upper spec with worn ahc springs until i can save for the Kings. A worn set of LC springs would be better than new if you go that direction.

The spring rate of the non-AHC springs is quite a bit over King springs. A few months back I had LX OEM springs, King springs, OEM LC springs and OME "heavy" springs all in the garage at the same time. The change in spring rate is something like this:

LX OEM
.
King Springs
.
.
.
.
.
Non-AHC OEM
.
OME "Heavy" springs

There's a BIG jump from King to non-AHC springs. I'm sure non-AHC springs will work fine for a rig with a steel rear bumper and a cargo system, but short of that I think it's overkill.

I was thinking of getting used non-ahc springs with around 150k on them, the ride won't be any more stiff than a rig without ahc right?

I think that's a safe assumption. That being said, you might eliminate a significant amount of the advantages of AHC.

If you provide most the spring support with just the mechanical springs you prevent the AHC system's ability to provide variable spring rate and to some extent, damping.

Do you have extra weight? Rear bumper? Cargo system? Massive subs and amp? If you're stock weight, I think non-AHC springs would be a poor choice.

What about spacers?

I've got 30mm spacers and original AHC springs with 164k on them, rear pressure is 6.3-6.4 but occasionally I want to tow 5,500lbs with a weight distributing hitch, otherwise no extra weight. I was thinking worn non-ahc springs would be the solution but now I'm thinking bags...

Anyone here has compared the LX470 AHC springs with Land Cruiser non-AHC springs?
