Coil spring install secrets?

I think cruiser outfitters has a link with spring lengths on it? I know 865's are shorter than stock unsprung. My OEM with 30mm spacer took a lot-o-room to get in.

Yes and very useful info on this Tech page of Kurts (BTW: Thanks Kurt!)

Cruiser Outfitters

I posted the link to the page with the spring info link/page thinking you/others might be interested in the other info he's put together there...

The easiest and overall quickest method for me to swap springs is to disconnect the sway bar links from the sway bar. Wheels off and frame supported I use a jack to raise the opposite side of the axle housing I'm spring swapping, push down a little on the spring swap side and the coil is easy to install.

Be careful of your brake and e-brake cable...not to stretch them unduly when you're doing this! But you probably already figured this out :)

Guys,

Thanks again for all of the good info. This thread has been super helpful.

Same thing with ahc. Only easier with weaker coils.
There is a danger of leaking shocks tho', if they are worn, when you bend them off the lower mounts. Might be that the upper mounts are more rigid than on a non-ahc?

Lift the the vehicle until the rear "shock" is fully extended, then remove lower mounting bolt. No bleeding necessary unless you are removing the shock completely.

And obviously, removing rear wheels will reduce the height the vehicle will need to be lifted.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm going to try this when my springs come in and let you guys know how it goes.
