Pardon the thread resurrection
I've been really happy with my Keurig. I haven't owned a drip coffee maker for several years now.
However, I don't use the K-cups... that's way too expensive for me plus the ones I've tried we're pretty nasty. I use one of these with my own fresh coffee. It holds enough for the "small" setting, maybe the medium if you really pack it in.
Recently, while camping, I got turned on to the pour-overs. I had always used a french press while camping, but liked the idea of easier cleanup and not having the soot in my cup.
After a little research, I've determined that the Hario V60 system is the Toyota of pour over. If you really get into it, you have to weigh it and time it.
I've just been timing it so far. Although I need a better kettle, I've enjoyed it so much that I've been using this on a regular basis when I have the extra few minutes.
It tastes even better when you heat the water on single burner Coleman stove!
