Coal Creek July 27-30

edit: I finally found a decent map online for coal creek-- see link below. I'm finally able to retrace our exact steps from my gps track and it looks like we took 3-40-39 which I'd recommend for the bigger tire crowd. It's a great loop trail and will take the better part of the day.

40 is a new number. The Rail Trail didn't have a number until recently. I've gone down it on a mountain bike, but I don't have a vehicle capable of it.

Ok if a couple come from Flordia ?

Everyone is welcome, hopefully we will have enough to break up into a couple of groups based on level of difficulty people want to run.

I will do biscuits and gravy Saturday morning and need a head count.
Could everyone post up when they plan to arrive and how many people they ar bringing,

Probably not making this due to personal issues and scheduling conflicts. Still game to trail lead for GSMTR. Will take extra time off to be there the whole week.
Sorry you can't make it hope your issues work out. We appreciate your offer to be a trail leader, as we get closer to GSMTR I will work out a schedule.
Thanks

Does that mean you're not bringing the 40? Or do you have that much room in it and I've just never noticed cause it's always full when I see you at The Cove?

Yea im bringing the 40. driving it up to manchester to meet roger in a couple hour. the back seat is still in it cause im traveln light this time so i wont need all the gear we usually take to the cove. at lease i hope i wont need it!

It'll be midnight or later before we get there; see y'all Friday morning.

Roger, I'm probably going to occupy an RV spot near you until I figure out where to end up putting the semi (depending on pricing and sleeping arrangements).

Archie and Rocky and not coming up unfortunately. Rocky has to work on Monday which would mean we would only be there on Saturday. A little short for a 1,200 mile round trip! If there's another we shall try again...have a great time!

Oh & I can't wait for biscuits and gravy, Roger! The breakfast from GSMTR was definitely one of the best meals I've had in a while!

Sorry I couldn't make it, crankshaft pulley issues on the 45. Hope the trails and weather were awesome! Post reports!

Cheers,
Jorl

We had a great time. Spent most of Friday checking out the moderate trails. Sat we left camp after Henry and Lee got there around 10:30 am. The people at the office told us about a new trail that was not on the map yet so after getting some directions from profo we set out to find it. It will be number 75 when the new map comes out. Well let's just say that 75 is not for the faint of heart. All the tough stuff has bypasses and everyone except 4x4steve took the first one after that we all climbed to the very top of the ridge witch in some places was only a few feet wider than our cruisers with drop offs on both sides. When I say drop offs I mean cliffs,on the passenger side of the trail it was a 100' or more to the tops of the trees below. I have a few pics I will try to get loaded tonight and maybe Steve will share some of his video. After we finished 75 we whent back to some more mod trails. Returned to camp about 11 pm, refueled our trucks, got some food and went back out. Hit trail 15 witch was a lot of fun then on to trail 22. 22 is a long easy trail if you don't mind a little pin striping it's a good one for beginners and stockers. Got back to camp at 4:45 am. That's what I call a full day of wheeling!
