Folks, there are just about 10 days left to register for CMCC 2018. You need to be registered by June 10th to be part of the final headcount for dinner and shirts.

There will be NO walk-in registrations!

Tomorrow, Sunday June 10th, is the deadline to register for CMCC and still get a shirt, sticker and BBQ dinner. After tomorrow you'll have until June 30th to register with no shirt, sticker or dinner included (for the same price)... so get a move on folks! After June 30th you are out of luck - there will be no registrations accepted after that and there will be no walk-ins accepted at the event.

Can I confirm/ clarify my understanding of the radio requirements? I believe the tech requirements specify "a working CB or HAM radio." I think that is pretty straightforward! On the CB side, just wanted to confirm they are talking about the "real" CB (27MHz, 40 channels, 10-10 good buddy). Reason I ask is other places, some folks using the term casually include the GMRS/FRS walkie talkies in that bucket.

I have 2 of the GMRS/FRS radios, but assuming GCLCC meant what they wrote, I'll need to quick buy a HAM or "real" CB. Seems like everyone is moving to HAM, so that would be a better choice for the long term. But unfortunately a family thing came up and I wasn't able to sit for the amateur radio license exam. Hopefully in another month. Would I be O.K. just monitoring trip leader comms on the HAM?

(A handheld CB only runs around $50-100ish, so it isn't a cost-prohibitive move for me if the HAM monitoring option is a bad idea.)
Thanks! I hope to see you all Wednesday.

Perfect! Thanks for the quick reply.
