Here's a new one, been having a weird clutch in the Blue Pig for a few months now. Started when some Texans borrowed it and blew up the clutch slave earlier this year. I replaced that with a rebuilt. Clutch master naturally blew up a month or so later. Replaced that with a rebuilt.
Since then, we've had to adjust the clutch pedal pushrod a few times...sometimes the pedal rides too high and we'll shorten that pushrod, then it needs pumping so we'll lengthen it...
Today the clutch goes out again, requiring an extra pump or two to work. So I take another look at it...
Seems there's suppose to be a little rubber bumper, on the clutch pedal that bumps into an adjustable matching stop on a bracket near the clutch pedal pivot...
The Black Pig and the Green Pig have one, but the Blue Pig lacked it. I'm hoping that the missing rubber bumper was the problem, allowing the clutch master cylinder to back out too far and do something or other untoward inside the master.
Now, I could have gone and looked through the parts bin for a lightly used rubber bumper, but I just backed out the adjustable stop on the bracket enough to make up the difference.
Seems to be a fix, so far..
