Big Horn Lodge reservations made for 22-27 MAR; leaving 20 MAR AM. Getting the 265's mounted on my old wheels so I need to coordinate hauling my 285 wheel-set out to MOAB.:bounce2:

My 3RZ thanks you!

Tim,

I will be more than happy to carry them out for you. You can bring them to the next meeting and I will pick them up with the truck.

Rob,

Has there been any discussion regarding trail choices? I know this trip won't be like Cruise Mobab or Easter Heap Swarming with over booked trails, but just curious if anyone was teaming up to take on a particular run?

Ipor fzj-40 in moab???

Okay... Can we start a poll?

Who here thinks the IPOR TEAM can get a running FZJ-40 on the trails of Moab by 3/23/09?

Check out the IPOR thread in the HARDCORE Corner if you have not done so.

** Disclaimer ** This blatant re-direct is in no way an attempt to keep Lance from putting a dead Brook Trout in the headliner of my FJ-55...

Trail Options for Moab Trip

For anyone who planning on attending the Moab Pilgramage and has not done so, please check out this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/va-bay-blue-...moab-trip.html . I am sure plenty of people have ideas of which trails they would like to run and this is is the spot to discuss our options. Otherwise, we might have Cam out in front bushwacking his way from Moab to Bryce Canyon... :p I am sure Rob would try to be the voice of reason but Lance would just egg him on.....

Ben

It also looks like we may have 2 more trucks coming from our area.

Tim Tomlinson and Dave

Tim is planning on brining his 05 V8 4Runner with new axles, suspension, and other doodadds that we are working on at the moment and dave I think is bringing his new 80 series he just bought, not sure.

Cam

sorry, didn't see this post a bit back. THat's us! Can't wait to get out of FLAAAAAAAAAT Savannah, Ga!!

noted, Tim/Dave are you staying at the lodge or camping? Both driving out or towing anything? When are you planning to arrive? how many more questions can I ask?

Thanks,
Rob -updating head count thread

I need to do as much as I can on the cheap for this one. Recommendations?

There are a bunch of us in similar circumstance. Pack a loaf of bread and a few cans of SPAM... mmmm... SPAMwiches...

I think those of us staying in the campground are doing so more for the experience more so than the cost, but it is cheaper.

You could also turn your socks inside out every other day and use half as many socks, thereby reducing your laundry expenses.

HTH,

I think the lodge is about $20 more per day, has hot showers and bathroom in room, fridge, microwave, ect, middle of town, can walk anywhere, you do not have to supply sheets make bed, clean ect. They come standard with two queen beds. unless you are funny, not funny ha ha... for that they have king size beds :)

Plus they have Smitty's steak house on site!!!!!

It is up to you, We have a special price at the Big Horn Lodge, if you call up give them my name "Rob Matzell" and the Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers club to get that rate, I know rooms were filling up.

Everyone has different budgets, comfort levels ect, You can stay wherever you would like, as long as you meet up each morning for the trails. We will pick a meeting spot once we get there and I would suggest meeting at the same spot each day so there is no confusion.

It is getting close, see you there.

Rob

Last I checked the hotel was $35 more per night than renting a CABIN at the campground. If you plan to camp in a tent and it's even less expensive... unless you're funny, not funny ha-ha... if that's the case then you should stay in the hotel. Rob has looked into that and says they have king beds for that.
