If you stay in a tent or a cabin, you can play Broke Back Mountain...:princess:

I am sure you will get love wherever you stay:p

I think the original idea was to camp. Maybe try to get a hotel a couple of the nights. I try to take a shower atleast once a week ...whether I need it or not.

If any of you guys are looking for a "partner" to camp with though, can't really help ya there. :flipoff2:

...not that there's anything wrong with that

Dwight & Rob,

I thought you guys said you rented a jeep the last time you went to Moab? :D Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Whoa.....

I didn't go last time. It was Dwight and Rob with two other couples. Dwight flew out with Billie Jean and rented the jeep....

So the difference is $25 a night.....

I was just going on the info Rob posted earlier of $79 per room at the hotel for 1-5 rooms. True, there are 6 people now listed as staying at the "big horn" but naturally I assumed that you and Rob would be bunking up broke-back style. Thus, my assumption of the $79 rate.:flipoff2:

Cheapskates can camp for $22/night, making it $47 off of your $69 hotel rate.

The only way to stay for less will be to sleep in the dually in the big horn lodge parking lot and bum showers from you like Cam is planning to do....

"Cam, time for your shower..."

I just won't tell him which room Dawn and I are in......

It will be on the Underhill account... they do have a hot tubs across the street, I am sure he could swim in those!

****On a seriouse note EVERYONE be sure to call your credit card companies and tell them you are driving across country, what states and for how long. Last time my credit card got cut off, they thought someone stole the card and was hitting gas stations for beer, smokes, and gas every 3 hours. I had to call and get it reinstated. If you are carrying cash to pay for all the fuel, just let me know where you are keeping it so I can get some for the ride home :)******

Just heard from my cousin Steve Arndt in Arizona - he is in. He's flying into Durango, CO on Wednesday morning, then driving his FZJ80 out to Moab to meet up with us Wednesday night. He'll probably plan to drive his 80 on the trails with us on Thursday. :D

Communication

I was looking through the "Vehicles and Equipment Going to Moab" thread and only saw one truck (Richs' 80) which listed a CB. I am sure most of us have CB radios in our trail rigs, but what about tow vehicles? 2 reasons to throw one in if you have not:

1~ Trucker Chatter will let you know if a problem ( accident or such ) lies ahead giving you time to find an alt. route if available before you get stuck in traffic.

2~ If you are traveling in tandem with another party, CB's are a MUCH easier and faster way of staying in contact than a cell phone.

My 2 cents...

Ben

You just gave away your location, the name is on the building in the back ground...now if I can just learn to read ABA DABAA I can track you down! It looks like the one guy has a stack of money in one hand, is there some kind of "deal' going down?

Stay safe and keep the photo's coming!

Ben, We are heading out in waves. I know my group will have 2way radio's between us, but I am sure at least one will have a cb as well. GOOD CALL on this, it is a lot easier to respond and talk to everyone than a cell phone in those situations. Diesel has dropped to $1.93 around here. I worked on the 4runner last night, getting the GMC ready tonight.

Rob

Tim and I both have CB's but we're taking a more Southern route and may not actually make it into Moab until Sunday or even Monday.

...this all barring I get my new trans/tcase installed in time. ...should be about a day or two project? - side note, if anyone has any advice or info they wouldn't mind sharing, please send me a pm, as I've never replaced a trans on an 80 before.

-sorry to get off topic, back to the trip thread!

Put it back in the reverse order, fill with fluid, save left over nuts/bolts, you will eventually figure out where they went... Test drive before leaving for Moab... Good luck

Hey guy's I just talked with Missy at slickrock camp ground and asked about the weather over there this time of year. She said march has some of coldest day's they have,I fiqure you all know this ,BUT remember to pack coverall's and warm stuff if you got them. I dont think they allow 55 gallon barrel's of fire in the front seat's of truck's. Lance please tell me you got that heater valve installed after I left!!!!!!
