True to form, it WILL RAIN. Awesome... now we get to see what SLICKROCK really is!

woo-hoo...

If those temp's are close to acurate this will be a great trip.

And we all know that the BBRC cant have an event without some rain

With rain coming in on Monday, I might be intrested in doing Fins and things sunday afternoon. Depending on the rain migt want to stay on easy trails monday, should dry up quick to do the other trials later in the week. Post up if you might be intrested in doing Fins sunday say maybe from 2-6. I know this a depends on what time we get there and how everyone feels.

Well of course the weather keeps changing! I say we get together sunday once we recover and take a look at the game plan and make changes as needed. Everyone stay safe and keep it between the lines!

Diesel at $1.79 this morning!!!

now that funny I dont care who you are!!!!!

The rain cleans out the rock. You get even better traction in the rain or just after on the slickrock. Have fun. I'm too slammed at work. I'll have to wave as you pass though

Well, for those following along at home (or wherever you read the interweb Mr. Powers) the first of the convoys left last night and made it all the way to the Giant Food parking lot on Rt 3 West. Thats right, the F350 Dually took a dump before it ever left town. Something about the high pressure oil line that feeds the fool injection system. John's trusty old Chevrolet was called into service at the last minute and is somewhere between Kentucky & Utah pulling my 40 and Cam's buggy :steer: while the Ford hangs out at the dealership waiting on parts :wrench:.

Haven't heard much else, other than Richard's 80 got a little warm :o heading up Afton. Hope all is well with the Richmond based road warriors. Us :princess: are flying out at oh' dark thirty tomorrow am and should be in SLC by noon local time and Moab :zilla: a few hours later. Might have to air down the rental car if we get there early.

Well, the 3 :princess: have arrived in Moab...just waiting on everyone else now.

Sounds like most everybody made it to Denver and are headed this way after a quick game of musical trucks to re-distribute the load for the pull over the Rockies.

John's dually blew a tire somewhere causing Cam some grief, but the Chevy is still headed this way.

Wish you all were here :) Moab is awesome, and I haven't even left the parking lot yet.

I'm so jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just talked to Cam. They made nearly to Grand Junction last night, about 2 hours out, and are supposed to pull in around 9 local time.

Dwights 4-runner needs to go on a diet. But at least it can pull the mountain on its own if needs to.

Conversations with the guys have been brief and cryptic. I'm waiting for a full story once they get here and get some rest. Sounds like a heck of an adventure so far.

Oh, the 3 :princess: slept fine at the Big Horn last night after a dinner of pizza & for those worried about our welfare.

Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers...

ROAD CONDITIONS
"Texas Department of Transportation has now closed I-40 at the Oklahoma/Texas State line due to rapidly deteriorating conditions and low visibility due to blowing snow. Travel is strongly discouraged."

Some of the crew are stuck in this. :frown:

Dwight and I made Amarillo, TX about 1:30AM on Friday morning. Got a hotel and prepared to hunker down for the storm that was coming. Slept for about 6 hours and woke to the storm being a few hours out, so we jumped in the trucks, shifted into 4 hi and headed for Oklahoma City. We made it with minutes to spare. They closed i-40 by the time we pulled by the trailer trucks jack-knifed all over the place on the westbound side. Things cleared up in Oklahoma City and the second half of Friday was 70 degree weather and sunny. We just kept on trucking to Memphis for the night.

Saturday we woke to overcast and slight showers, and spent most of the day in similar conditions. We seemed to make the best time once we hit I-81. After a brief stop over on the side of the road with some minor fuel problems, we crossed over Afton Mtn. with some of the heaviest fog I have seen since visiting London.

We pulled into Richmond around 12AM on Sunday. Spent this morning washing the trucks and trailer, cleaning up the straps and surveying the damage.

When do we go again?

:grinpimp:

Care to elaborate? I'm sure there is more to this story ;)

Rob

Have anyone heard from Rob to see how he is ? What was the fuel problems ??

Not all green station pump handles are diesel.

:meh:

I know of one guy I used to work with that filled up his new Ford diesel at a BP station....he burned up his diesel motor with unleaded. The rig had less than 10k miles on it - not covered under warranty.

I hope Rob's turns out okay.

quite the traveling fiascole for some of the group, huh?

Hey Guys, I made it. We pulled into Richmond today (sunday) at 7pm after leaving Moab on thurdays at 3pm. You do the math! For the first 760 miles we averaged 38 mph and that includes the first 4 hours going 65 mph, Came to a stop several times to make sure we were on the road on I40, no one told us the road was closed???? It took over13 hours to get from Ablerquerque NM to Armirillo TX. White nuckles the whole trip in the dark from 9pm to 10:30 am. They had the highway blocked and said we could not go any further. The GMC was pulling good in 4hi. We crashed for 24 hours till they opened up 27 south and headed to Lubbock TX and then east on 82, saw some very scenic towns!!! Picked up 30 outside of Texarkana and then took 40 home. So to recap 36 hours westbound out there, 50 plus hours home and 2450 miles later one way!! I will be ready to sleep tonight!
