As for the gear lube. I just use the Auto Zone brand of 80/90.
I change it once a year anyway cause of all the possible contamination it can get from water intrusion.

But hey, that's just how I roll!

Every time I blow a ring and pinion I change my fluid.... So it's pretty fresh...
 
Even though most of this group appears to be ass holes on the surface, don't let it fool you.....that can not mask their inner Mr Rogers that always bubbles to the surface eventually.

I did get the 80 for trails and camping. It's in pretty good condition for being 21 years old. The po said all they did to it was put a new starter in besides oil changes, new tires and brakes. That's another reason why I want to do a bunch of maintenance to it.
 
My '84 has never had synthetic in it even when I was daily driving it. Just once a year changes unless water crossing are deep then as soon as you're back home.

Same here. 5 gallon bucket of farm and fleet for the LC, synthetic for everything else
