Clean metal/ paint

I have an alxe that was sandblasted and was nice and clean. It has since gotten dirty with oil and dirt. Any products out there that are recommended for cleaning so it will be ready to paint?

Eastwood's Paint Prep. I've used it several times with great results.

FYI - If you're in Cali, you have to order the low VOC version, which I hear is not as good.

Brake Clean cleans everything!

there's a chemical firefighters use that takes surface rust and oils off bare metal, but i can't for the life of me remember what it is...find a firefighter

Purple power it's in a gallon at auto parts stores and home improvement , runs about $6 a gallon . Cheap and works great

Used some Breakleen product that I had in the garage and it crushed in the clean up!
