The 295/70s and the 285/75s that I have had on my truck were both rated for and mounted on the 7.5" wide factory wheel and like Lee said you can run wider but it's not the best case scenario for proper tire wear. I used to run 15" wide swappers on an 8.5" wide wheel but I never had more than 20 psi in them. I would not recommend doing that but something in the 11" to 12" wide range should be ok.

You'll be fine Will with 285s and 295s

It's a bit skinny of a rim for 305's. The local Discount Tire would not mount 315's on the OEM 7.5" wide rim.

Some tire shops won't, some will. There are lots of folks running 315s on the stock wheels. It tends to make the center section of the tread balloon out a little more so you have to check what tire pressure makes the tire sit flush with the road (same you should really do with all tires) Chalk test works very well.

I am running 315s on my stock 16x8 wheels with zero problems.

Lee, the steel wheels are 17"x7.5"

The long ranger (ryan's favorite pornstar name) should be available soon. They will have a rear tank and a replacemant for the oem tank.

De ja vu all over again?

Found some more of the wheels I need on eBay out of new Orleans. If I win them, would someone mind picking them up and bringing to Christmas party? 4 wheels (no tires). Auction ends in 2 days so I'll know soon.

Well, turns out they are actually in PA, not NOLA. Might be working out a deal anyways.

Mike, my apologies. I will be at the party. I did reply on Jan 17th, I did it from my phone. Just checked and it appears that I some how managed to just reply to Bart haha. Not quite used to using the mail app on the iPhone.

265/70r17 or similar size.
Preferably a mild all terrain, something like the BFG rugged trail, all terrain, general grabber at2, etc.

Are these for your LC or something else? reason I ask is that theres a set of tacoma wheels and tires on craigslist for $500 here in Thibodaux. They are 265/75/16 BRG rugged trails, low miles. Obviously not what you need if they are for the LC.

also saw these...
