They had biodegradeable earth friendly car wash chemicals in them. They are only ok for grey water. like watering plants, flushing toilets and the like, no drinking from these things.

Most folks us them for rain barrels or garbage cans.

honestly I don't know. They are white plastic. I'm fairly sure you could but I could always be wrong.

FWIW, gasoline will eat through a lot of normal plastics not designed to hold gasoline. I had some buddies use water cans to store gas and it ate through them after a little while.

Speaking of gas cans, i just checked eBay and new Scepters (older style) are going for upwards of $150 each!!! I bought 3 new for 75 each and thought i got ripped off 4 years ago, haha.

Also have two of the Wedco style pre-ban metal ones as well. I like using the Scepters more because they don't leave red paint on my can carrier, ha. I use a safety siphon most of the time as well.

I have to agree with Layton that if the containers aren't made for gas they won't work for long. I know that some of these barrels contained a corrosive chemical used in touchless car washes.

BTW I still have them. I was able to wash out two of them so far and they clean up very nicely. I also have recovered about 10 gallons of regular car wash chemicals out of some of them so if anyone wants some ffree car wash, let me know.

1997 Lexus LX 450
Time to let her go, this is one great truck! It has kept my son safe for 6 years and has never left him stranded. We have maintained the heck out of this truck. My son has driven cross country in it several times so each time we would have our mechanic go through it, if we found something questionable we would replace everything around it. All fluids and filters have been changed and checked regularly, 3 to 5 k miles. The paint is ok, it has some trail rash. I repaired a dent at the drivers side taillight..not perfect. The truck does have the front and rear locking diff’s and comes with the 3rd row seats that are in near perfect condition

The Bad
Check engine light has been on for 6 years..code 403 02 sensor, the truck runs great as is 13 – 14 mpg around town and 17 – 18 mpg hwy just never found it to be an issue
The Leather on the front driver seat is worn…not bad but worn
The leather on the center console is worn
The antenna no longer retracts
There are some stains and dirt on the headliner and carpet…nothing terrible but need to mention them.
No keyless entry..have 3 keys for the truck
