I have been doing my part to not let people forget about this run

Hey. I am going to try to get a meetup spot for the Tucson peeps. Thinking same spot as last year. Beyond Bread parking lot off oracle and ina. 421 W Ina Rd, Tucson, AZ 85704. But need the official time and place where everyone is meeting up (In Florence?). I saw 8:30 and hit the trail by 9 but if i could get the final details, that would help me a lot with getting the tucson group together.
Thanks in advance

If i attend I am good at meeting up there. We can figure out more details as the day gets closer.

Unfortunately I have to work this Saturday and will not be able to attend

Since I recently sold my FJ40 to the president, I had a couple offers to ride shotgun (thanks for that) and if anything changes, ill jump in. It was a great 8 years of having that sweet ride~

A whole lot of thanks and appreciation to Mtn Biker for taking lead on the Classic Cruize and hope the annual tradition is kept alive. I'm happy to help and look forward to attend future runs with someone!

I can’t be there this year either. Between 3 houses to pack up, two houses sold and three storage units full I am tapped out in free time! New place should close end of May and hopefully by end of June my life should be a life👍 Murf sorry to see your 40 go but you still have that bitchin 80! Once things calm down here I plan on getting way away on the weekends and digging into my brothers ‘76.

2 weeks out, if you are deemed an essential employee and have to work on the occasional Saturday you might want to ask for the time off. If you don't have to work on Saturdays then it is all good. But it is just about time to let these relics stretch their legs.👍😆

Anyone have the location for box canyon?Just looking for the start and finish. Or is it a loop? I have never been and just wanted to look on the map.

I just did a quick search and found this not sure it thats it or not.

On the first page in the thread there is a description on how to get to trailhead. But that looks correct.

View attachment 2241423USER=24282]@murf[/USER] and I are staring to work on the details for this years classic cruise but save the date for the last weekend in April on the 25th. the location will be fairly centralized for the most part, between Phoenix and Tucson probably near Florence. It shouldn't conflict with country thunder, like last year, as that is the week before the classic cruise. I am going to be putting out some options for the trails so it can be both a one day trip or an over-nighter if people want. This will be a true Classic Cruise so the same rules apply as last year any 4x4 Toyota from 1989 and older so it will be plenty friendly to the more vintage Cruisers. If you have a first gen 4runner, pickup, cruiser all are welcome. If your vehicle does not fit the criteria but you want to come you can always ask to be a passenger in one of the rigs that is going. I have heard from many people that the coke ovens are closed because one got knocked down. Knowing that makes no sense to go if we can't see them. Box canyon will go to Reymert mine so this years run will start in Florence go up through box canyon to Reymert mine and finish on the 60. This will be a most of the day trip with chances to stop for lunch. In addition to the commemorative sticker, there will also be "door" prizes. categories to be announced on the day of the run. This is mentioned in a later post but I just realized that is wasn't posted here. The official meet up time is 8:30 at the dirt lot behind McDonald's in Florence, there is food and a gas next door and the trail by 9.

Are there any good options for disbursed camping nearby? Given the distance and early muster, I may head down Friday evening and camp so I have a lazier morning before the trip...

There is a large area for camping out there near the trail head, weather permitting we were planning on the same. I used to camp out there several times each winter about 10 years ago when I was still riding dirt bikes. Ill stay in touch as we get closer to the date and maybe we can meet up.

This next weekend sunny and warm.

Is there anyone going who has done this run before?

Where would all the tucson folks like to meet up at?

This thread said "beyond" Ina and Oracle but i meant to say Beyond Bread at Ina and Oracle and i said 6:30 but only because my 40 only can get to about 60 mph and I don't like staying there very long. We could meet at 7 there I would just like to be in Florence early due to the fact that I am kind of planning this whole shin-dig.
