Very sorry to hear Vern! I hope he is Ok.

I'm also going to unfortunately skip out tomorrow, my dad has asked me to go Christmas tree hunting on SUNDAY with him and the family...something I haven't done in years and really would like to.

You a hippy now? Can't cut down two trees in one year?

:flipoff2:

Hmm, can anyone make it out Sunday instead?

Seriously?!

First you get everyone all riled up with your glorious pictures of oh so bountiful harvests a plenty, then your winging, forces me to wake up my, only just barley pre pubescent daughter that much earlier. Then in her sleep deprived state she can fight and bicker with her annoying little brother in the confined back seat of a Sixty which I also must occupy whilst I fighting the mother and I mean MOTHER of all head colds.

Then once I have oh so reluctantly complied to your wishes, knowing the unfortunate fate which awaits me...... you pull the shoot and bail out.

Icing on the cake: A hijack, attempting to rally the masses on Sunday instead!??

Thank god Nathaniel showed up.

A keen eye might notice something missing off the rear of my truck..... Lets gust say I'm glad it fell off on the logging road and not on the Malahat. Ill be calling Jayson (Crusin Off Road) to see what spindles he's been using these days. Seems the expensive, fancy top of the line one I bought isn't up to the job.:bang:

Thank god Nathaniel showed up.

I'll have to flag that one for future reference.......

Anyway we carried on after Cam's family got the better of him and checked out Weeks lake, had a nice fire, roasted some weiners, and did a bit of target practice at some old appliances so graciously left by other nature loving folks. Couldn't find the secret tree farm Vern took us to last year. But we found a nice pine tree for a change and headed home.

which one did you get before? I was thinking of ordering one from ruff stuff to build my rear bumper

Yeah, Ruff Stuff. Sheared the shank below lower bearing and seal.

Thanks Nathaniel for the extra straps to hold the spare down to the roof rack and the heavy lift to get the big tire up there.

Actually, truth be told the kids were jems today, I just had to rib Andrew a bit. LOL.

Ya I mounted it really well. The lower spindal was welded at two points (it protruded into the bumper and was welded top and bottom). The other end was latched hard in a UHMW cradle. She was solid...... until.

Funny, when you text ranted at me about a 37 bouncing down the road with a bumper attached, my chemically altered brain was trying to figger out what the hell a 37 was...first thought went to an old dodge m37...then I had another beer to ad some clarity...

This is what happens when you go for trees too freaking early.

My christmas tree, is a 2' tall plastic thing that comes out of the attic on the 23rd, and gets stuffed back there on the 26th.

Mind you, I haven't spawned any crotchfruit to pester me to get a tree far too early, so it's only Mel's asking when I'm going to go get the ladder for the tree, and I seem to have a slight hearing impairment when it comes to certain vocal ranges...:hillbilly:

Wow, glad to hear it didn't come off on the highway. Looks like Cam's 60 and Jeeps have something in common after all :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Ya, talk to Jason... the spindle on my old swingout was tough enough you could open it up, climb on top of the arm, and jump up and down.

Glad you got a tree. Got ours today in the rain  Would have been much better yesterday.
