child restraints

Does someone know when the back seat child restraints were put in. I have a 98 and i have to use the seat belt to lock in my child seats. I am thinking of getting a newer LC so i can make sure i can use the newest fittings.

The seatbelt is not much harder to use than the LATCH system just takes an extra minute, I think it is just as safe too.

i used the 3/8 ubolt (rated 2000lbs) that i was reading about on the forum - I am not sure if that is the best thing to use.....

What is the rating of the tie downs in the back??
