Major score..

World Toyota is having a 25% off sale, plus free shipping over $75 (with hidden note *up to $200).
-460 right caliper
-460 left caliper
-460 front rotor x2
-470 rear rotor x2

When I priced these out a couple months ago, it was going to be $816.52
With the sale I got it down to $627.08!!! BUT that was still paying for some shipping because the total shipping amount was over $200.. So i started playing with combos of parts in my cart. I ended up placing 3 individual orders (front rotors, rear rotors, calipers) and saved even more... Total "out the door" is $566.64!!!

Just need to order pads, then hurry up and wait for everything to arrive.... AND find the time to install lol

That is a smoking deal! It was $718 for me last year for the same parts!

Starting the parts pile.
So far these have arrived:
-front pads
-rear pads
-SS lines (in blue)
-new caliper springs
-rear rotors

Still waiting on:
-L/R calipers
-front rotors

weird because I placed all the orders at the same time.
Both the front and rear rotors shipped the same day/time - but the front rotors have never updated tracking since UPS took them over. A few days later the calipers shipped, and again, after a few days the tracking on UPS stopped updating... Not a great sign.

The front rotors originally had the same delivery ETA as the rears, but those arrived last Fri and no updates since.. The original delivery ETA for the calipers was for today... so we'll see but not holding my breath since no updates in tracking.

Calipers arrived yesterday evening. Still no update on the UPS investigation for the front rotors.

Well first time having any issues with orders from WT, but their customer service has been great even though it's not their fault.

Just got this email from them this morning

Replacement front rotors should be here Wed.

Started painting the new front calipers. Two coats of VHT caliper paint and two coats of VHT clear over it. Didnt mask everything off uber meticulous as most anyone else will never see these besides from behind the wheel lol.

Took the GX back into Big-O Tires this AM. I found wheel weights under the truck from the spare.. and the steering had been a little wobbly after our last camping trip. Got them to rebalance everything (free). I also told them to torque the lug nuts to 80lbs since last time I broke a key trying to get them off. Going to head out to the garage and test them and put the spare back up under the car (i dropped it and placed it in the rear of the GX to make it easier/faster for them - plus I generally have doubts of how nice techs put things away haha).

They did their normal "inspection" around the car.

-Valve covers were replaced 6k miles ago... (probably seeing residual oil from the old leak)
-I dont think there is a service interval for the ATF??? (either way ive been slowing changing it out with my oil changes)
-I replaced the radiator/coolant last Dec
-I replaced the power steering fluid, lines, and res in Feb

Brake fluid does need to be done - which I will with all the other stuff obviously
Battery is 3 years old, so MAYBE a legit mention

But the 4 above just seem to confirm more so that they kinda sorta make problems up to gain more work for the shop.. Glad I "know about cars" and not oblivious to have shops perform unnecessary work.

Other than that, will be prepping GX/trailer for our next trip. Heading out tomorrow for a 4hr tow to camp. Will be a MUCH different weather vs the same spot last year. Last year the daytime highs were mid/upper 80s. This week... a lot cooler..

Camp trip did great!
GX did fantastic. The same grade we pulled up last year I was hitting 248* on the trans. This year it peaked at 203* :)
Weather was cooooool but it was great.

On the way home today, lil man said he needed to poop. So at least now with the trailer we can pull over and let him go hah. Overlooking a large valley while he does his thing

Side quest thanks to @zuninja lol. Going to follow the linked Reddit page he posted in his journal to make the Homelink buttons work in the GX.

Part is located about 4 hours away. Hope to have in by the end of the week (depending on when the seller ships it).

Lol. That's my reddit post. This is probably one of the most satisfying mods I did to my 470. And I'm glad it's helping others.

I just bought one too - for $19 shipped but much further away. I probably won't put it in for several months but can't wait to remove the rattle-prone opener from the PS visor!
It takes five minutes total to install it. Do it.

Bought a foam cannon back in March of this year. Finally put it to use for the first time lol.
Also first time in about a year (honestly cannot remember) washing the GX. Also did the wife's car today and ALMOST did the Trek too hah.

I also cleaned out the sunroof drains. The passenger side was totally caked closed but drivers side was free. I also ran some weedwhacker trim line down to clear any potential deeper clogs.

I love our foam cannon. Makes washing fun :).

GX is missing...

My parents are on vacation traveling across the country for two weeks and my dad's bday is during their trip. My mom bought him some goodies for the truck and ill be installing while their gone so its a total surprise when he gets home. Parked the GX in their garage and took the truck back. Too long to fit in our garage tho hah
