8.8 mpg with a full-size trailer like you have is not bad at all! I've found staying <65 mph helps a ton with my low-profile trailer.
Here in CA, ANYTHING with 3+ axels is a 55 mph top speed limit. But, I think I hit 60-68 MPG two or three times on the drive home 🫢🤫. We went a different route home so we could do the highway downhill, coasting picking up speed haha.

Well, no GX updates - been working on trailer mods since we got back home from camping.
Got the idea of making cubbies for the trailer for clothes storage so we dont need to live out of a suitcase.
Was originally looking at some Ikea options, then went with something off Amazon. The zon ones were cheaper and lighter weight.

I ended up building a platform for the cubbies to sit on. I didnt want to have to reach down into the bottom row when our mattress/bedding is on.

I figured that could also be used as a great amount of storage, so i build a drawer into it. The issue I was going to run into was the frame of the trailer entry door sticks off the wall and the drawer would hit it - especially the drawer face. Well made a solution for that lol.. put some 3" drawer slides on the drawer face. So now I can pull the drawer out and once it comes to the frame of the entry door, I can slide the face of the drawer away from the door frame. Quick video of it here:
Drawer slides

Ive got some paneling that was originally where the storage box lives leftover. Im going to rip it down to size on the table saw and put it over the side of the cubbies so it hides the screw/peg holes.

Well a side quest for working on cars.

The small red box will get moved out once I fully empty it. That is the fist box I ever bought, off Craigslist about 18 years ago for $60 lol. I moved the fridge over because you couldnt fully open it when the wifes car is parked (hence the pool noodles taped to the door).

Most of my tools are spread out over 3 boxes the same size as the red. Ive got a grey one I got for free from a buddy about 8 years ago that is directly behind me in the pic. A 3rd box that was my gramps out in the shed.

This was five in a half old drawers into a single new one lol

Going to be very nice while working on cars to not have to run around to different spots to get something.

Am I missing something, or is the post "edit" button/option gone? I usually update the first post for things.. but not seeing it.

Edit: It was a bug, has been fixed :)

Yikes, that is crazy. Like the spare was replaced with the cheapest possible used tire sitting around the tire shop. I replaced my original OEM spare with a cheapo Kenda Klever AT a few years ago.

Also note that if you have aftermarket wheels, the aftermarket lug nuts won't work with the lug-centric OEM Lexus wheel. When I got the Klever I also bought a takeoff steel Toyota FJC spare wheel on eBay for around $70, which works with both normal acorn lug nuts and lug-centric Lexus lug nuts. Before that I carried a spare pair of OEM lug nuts in the rig (but they were a different hex size than the aftermarket lug nuts, so I had to carry two sockets :)).

Yea, I was pretty surprised the first time I saw the spare. I had dropped it a couple years ago to mess with the muffler.
Back in Nov last year, I bought a new matching Method. So ill have a matching spare and do a 5 tire rotation with every oil change. I have always done the same on the Crosstrek (5 Methods). Get a bit more life out of the tires :)

Purchased! It's such a pain to raise/lower by hand, and I always have a electric impact in the rig.
1000% Agree!
After I dropped the spare yesterday, I thought "ive got to have some socket size that would fit decently on this".... nope. So the Googling began. Figured it was worth a cheap shot and easy return if it didnt work.

Why I despise taking cars to "big box" auto shops...Torque spec - ugga dugga x m0re

Obviously new tires yesterday. They tried to sell me on pads/rotors but I'm planning on upgrading to gx460 calipers/rotors/pads later this year.
Decided since we're towing this next week and again in Sept.. Might as well just pad swap as precaution.

Lug nuts were on so damn tight I split the security socket trying to get them off!

I had some life left in the pads.. but figure for a mid-priced pad, $58 is worth just pad swapping since we're towing up Highway 1 along the Pacific Coast.

Also used the new socket to suck the new matching 5th wheel up under the rear. Was nice! I used to to suck it all the way up and just snug, then I used the manual bar to sinch it nice and tight without overdoing it: Google Photos video here
