1) Thanks to Sage for finding the donor truck!
2) thanks to Erik for brokering the deal, use of his air conditioned shop, and allllllll his help. It was a lot. It's been quite a while since I've done any serious wrenching, and my memory and stamina aren't what they used to be when we were building a new incarnation of a trail trucks together every 6 months or so

3) big thanks to Rob for showing up and saving me hood release cable faux pax: Erik and I were both pistol whipped and dehydrated little beatches by then, and it would taken us weeks. Rob poked his fingers under the hood, made a tool and had it open in about 90 seconds. He's the man you want to break into your car; fer-real. He also tacked the exhaust up and welded it together in about 15 minutes.
4) thanks to Erik's Jenn for food and hospitality; nice!
5) thanks to Chris, Erik's neighbor, for hualing off the carcass. I had a lot of good years and good miles with that rig; it was sad to see her go....but, after ripping the axles out in 106 degree heat, I was also glad to see her go...
Annie and I made it home with no drama, though it was freakin' hot. Man, I wish this heat wave would break already!
