Ok.. Chef has been nursing the body on his wagon for a # of years now.. poor thing is coming apart at the seams.. SOOOO.. Sage found a body with a bad motor and was inteterested.. well to keep sage on track and not let him get too many projects we went and looked at it for Chef.. Deal was struck and $ will be changing hands soon.. WE'll have a shell to get rid of as well soon..

I was only taking pictures of the normal areas of concern so not really of the whole thing.

surface rust on frame.. go figure.. we can just coat that.. minor bubble in pass rear and small dent in drivers front.. but ac is all there etc.. so a step up from his current sweat box.
More details will follow as to the plan and such. Remember I'll remember i have a project to finish don't worry..
Sad story really.. PO had engine rebuilt and apparently it shelled 10 miles later. Not sure how that happens but looking at the crank something went south.. all the parts are in the back. He just wanted it to go to a good home.. SO yes, yes it will.

This is really yards ahead of my tired old 60.
My rig does have a fresh and badass driveline though, so this is really helpful; thanks for looking out for me you two!!

If anyone wants an empty, fairly rusty 83 60 to completely trail trash, I'm yer huckleberry.
It's got a 2" body lift, a little bit of shackle lift, and it sitting on relatively nice bfg 33x12.50 muds.

could even come with a drivetrain in pieces in the back of this rig! :) HA.. seriously tho if anyone is wanting a roller we can make a deal.. less work for cheffy and I the better. otherwise we'll yank all of value and toss it on a trailer for scrap. It's all chef's deal so if your interested holler at him.. Will work out logistics of moving the rig etc. so anyone want to loan a tow rig and trailer? We still haven't decided if it's happening in columbia or kc yet.

Right now the plan is to get the new shell to my place via rollback. that way nobody has to be inconvenienced and it can roll right into the garage.

I've spoken with my neighbor and he's ok with getting his trailer and letting us put chef's truck on the trailer to gut and store and haul off minus axles.

SOOOO if anyone is wanting a roller speak up really soon and chef can make a deal.. otherwise i'm gonna go out on a limb and expect that we'll gut anything we might possibly need and my neighbor gets the shell for scrap. reasonable offers will be accepted.. what will be avail if we do this are a set of 33 12/50's on rims. we can provide a rear axle with 3.73's. we'll probably be keeping a front axle for disk later(can be negotiated if someone is willing), steering box will be scavenged, steering column will be scavenged, brake booster, pedals, clutch master and slave, etc. it does have a really nice body lift.. if you are interested in a body lift you will need to pull and pay. we're not asking a ton that's for sure but we're not pulling it. we'll keep dist, coil/ignitor etc. Chef and I have done this thing before so holler up now..
his current truck is tan.. nothing fancy if you need interior bits let us know.

Chef.. if i'm out of line let me know i just know what our endgame is. Don't want this thing around longer than needed. and.. the tlca home office garage is climate controlled and chef's isn't so that's a bonus.

pretty sure it's the same interior.. course you can possibly do what i did and grab a pass seat. I think the underlying issue is a couple broken welds in the frame tho. mine leaned so i swapped em for now. little lever is on wrong side but oh well.. we'll take pics

ANYONE? I'm going to work on getting the body transplant donor to the house this week.. heart transplant will drive in from columbia.

This project is going to start tonight.. Donor is in garage.. organ donor is being driven.. We'll post up stuff if possible as we go. Up for grabs will be a set of rims and tires.. there's a 2" body lift on chefs if anyone wants to come pull it this weekend
interior bits will be offered or they go away with the shell.. if anyone wants a set of 60 axles let us know now and we can wheel and deal otherwise they're getting pulled for donors and the price might go up depending on how much labor we have in em.
if you need it post up. we won't be to "stripping" mode till later in the weekend.

plan for tonight is to pull whats left of the transmission tcase out of the receiving shell and look at chef's. Just depends on how energetic we are tonight.

most of today was spent doing driveshafts, tranmission mount which is WAY different.. and other linkages.. we're beat but trucking on.

we were almost in and needed like another inch.. let the air out of the tires and we had it.. while jacking up transmission it got us there. chef's working on last heater hose right now to finish up so we can put fluids in it.

get over here and help bro! bring boulevard pale ale for chef and wheat for me and we have a deal!

major hurdles of the day.. tranny xmember totall different between years.. blew a clutch slave swapping that now. stupid heater hose we missed upon dissasembly took an hour and shifter for tcase was different and needed to be rebent to change from body lift to no body lift.
hubs on donor were not put together correctly that took another hour plus.. and had to cut slip joint on rear driveshaft, that took a while to figure out.
