Is there a way to check the cats to see if the interior is clogged or if they've fallen all apart without removing them? Seems like somebody said using a thermal camera but I never got that process to work. I have access to one if that's the way to do it.

Smack it with a dead blow hammer and listen for rattles.:meh:

I forgot to add:
I have a rattle upon acceleration from a stop. I've checked all the heat shields, checked for any loose metal parts and banged on the cats but can't reproduce the rattle.

Your land cruiser has a cool way of doing it with o2 sensors and electronics and stuff. P0420
I've seen a few people who didn't have the ambiguous p0420 code yet when they removed their cats the guts were completely wasted and fell out in chunks.

Infared thermometer.

Should be about 270 on the engine side and about 360 on the discharge side.
Is this when cold or at normal operating temperature (~194*) while idling? Thanks!
