Change of plans, I found a carrier that will ship it to my door for $350.... would have loved the road trip but I'll save that for the 45 run

Sissy (cough) :flipoff2: Hehehe I'd say that was a good decision... probably would have been a couple hundred in gas plus bus ticket, plus maybe not getting home on time/towed..... Alright, I take back the sissy part.... :D

haha... yea... It was Bulls eyedear. I'm not too smart sometimes.

Anyways... Payed for the truck at 5pm and his brother just called me and said he's on his way with a lowboy with some tractors and has room for the rig... so you my friends may be seeing pictures of this parked in my yard tomorrow.

Funny thing is that I'm delivering my FJ40 that I sold tomorrow at 9, so the amount of cruisers owned will stay the same.

However in August, I will surely stop by Medford and meet Robert... he is a cool guy on the phone and I'm sure a tear will come to his eye when a truck he's owned for 33 years leaves...

You should convince him to come to the 45 Run, I bet he'd have a blast! :D Hell, maybe us locals can work on him till then...

Patiently awaiting pics..... :D

Trucks getting loaded on the Lowboy as I type. I feel like a little school girl.

Mikesta, Congrats on this score... I was eating pizza with my son one night last January when Kiwi Karriers called from Arizona and said they had loaded my LPB on the truck and were headed towards Seattle. I remember it very well. Mine was sight unseen too, so the anticipation was killing me. ... but I think I felt more like a giddy schoolboy :) sorry, couldn't resist :beer::beer:

good move....:) $350 WELL spent!

I will be on I5 this morning heading to Lacy....hoping I spot the 45...and will try not to hijack it ;)

just noticed.......your post was 5am....hard time sleeping I bet

Its all good. I'm going to stick with giddy schoolgirl at her 6th birthday christmas eve bedtime though... just to emphasize how excited I am about this.

The funny thing is that I was going to take a greyhound bus down there last night at 7:30 pm getting there at 6:00am... go through the truck for 4 hours then head back.

Bull has a way of talking sense into me. Said to use Kiwi Carriers... they quoted me $600 for 500 miles, I was going to jump on it, but Someone here turned me onto Timbukturx.com when I sold Pacino and they are by far cheaper with all the insurance etc etc.

They quoted me 300-350. I had already paid them a deposit and Robert's brother gives me a call out of the blue at around 7 and said he drove truck and that he'd deliver today to tacoma at around 5pm for right around the same price.

I would have spent more just going down there to get it and I still wouldn't have it back in time. It just really worked out well on this one. I'm sure there will be a 100 or so pictures tonight. Now I'm out to drop off the 40 I sold, pick up some Deere's take the fam out to Ihop.

mANFREDI, I owe you a case of beer.

Mikesta.... we're still waiting for those pictures.

When I read this my heart dropped.... cant say I haven't thought of that happening. His brother got hung up waiting for a tractor somewhere near eugene. Today there will be pictures (fingers crossed)

When mine was picked up last winter, The driver decided to go to S. Cal for a 'few days' to visit relatives with my rig on the trailer. :crybaby:I imagined every scenario possible. None of them were good, but my avatar is the truck about an hour after we rolled (dragged) it off Kiwi's truck...Well, I did mount those wheels/tires before I would bring it onto the island.
Sheesh, I'm getting the schoolboy thing just waiting to see your pictures. You dont happen to have one of those catholic schoolgirl uniforms on do you?

I'm the ugliest school girl you've ever met... hah! Yea, I'm a little jittery waiting for the truck to arrive. Call it OCD/ADD AADD... whatever. Should hear from him soon.

These pictures will have to hold us till then

Been talking to Robert, he said that it should be in Tacoma by 3pm... wife and kids and I will head out at around 2pm and will probably stop by Bulls on the way back.

Robert and his wife DO want to go to the 45 run. They are going to drive something else down.

Just talking to this guy back and forth... really a top notch guy with tons of funny stories on this truck. Probably as good and straight forward as they come.

fingers crossed for 3pm.

this whole thing has me on pins and needles.

His bro was supposed to be here yesterday, but loading the tractors and moving the truck around slowed him down... so he was stuck in Vancover.

Then today, He needed to get 2 tires fixed before the weigh station. He parked the trailer at the mall Macy's in Vancouver. Then the security towed it.

He got the tires fixed but the compound where the truck was taken to put the trailer down to low, so it took another truck and about 2 hours to get that trailer fixed.

He has family in Vancouver, so I think he is hooking up with them.... so no 45 yet.

No I'm not too worried... I think I'll have a drink.

I'm trying to get him to deliver it to my house tomorrow...
