Just got these 34 x 9.5 x 15 Special Service Super Swampers for my truck... they look amazing. So like a kid in a candy store I'm excited and just had to post these pics... I'm working on suspension right now, and when I get them mounted I'll be sure to post more pics. I'm wondering why I've never seen this size around before, to me they should be just about perfect! Anyways, I just had to show them off... Cheers!

That's a GREAT tire... I was thinking about a month between the Q78R16 and the TSL 34/9R16... I prefer the look of the 34 but finally I buy the Q78 because I need big size for my big truck...

I always said... Swamper have to do a 35/9R16 or 36" / 37" but in 9 size... Not just the SSR and Bogger 35x10.5 because we need a 9" TSL in big size...

are those LTB's? I was thinking of running those on my 74. think tall skiny's look awsome. you know if you are going to need spacers to fit them on? I know I need to achieve 2.5" BS to fit 12.50 tires meaning either new rims or 1.25" spacers. would be sweet if you didn't need any for the skiny's. be sure to post pics when you get them on. what suspension you doin?
 
They are the " special sevice " TSL's... 34 x 9.5 R15... I'm going with the OME kit as I am lucky and have a buddy that is giving me a deal from a local shop on the kit... as for spacers, I don't think I will need them. I really don't ever want to drive these on the road, so I just traded my current 31 x 10.5 BFG MT's for a set of 31" AT's on wheels already, so once I put these Swampers on my current wheels I will have 2 sets - I think thats the key once you have tires like this, it would be a shame to see these in the city. As for pics, the lift won't be installed until mid Dec., but I will make sure to post some as soon as it is complete. In the meantime, after reading up on various threads I think I will weld up some longer shackles and see if I can use them for a trip to McLean Creek in 2 weeks... being so much narrower I really think these tires might work okay for it... even if they do rub a bit it won't be much, but I guess I'll find out after I whip up the shackles.
 
you know...i just got out of a truck with those EXACT tires on it....they wheeled pretty good...they were on a little zuki samurai with locked fr and rear but in 2wd we were just getting stuck where the open open truck following us would get stuck in 4wd...their nice tires congrats

My trail tires are 34x9.5 TSLs that I switch between my FJ40 and BJ70. They fit well and perform great. I have them mounted on stock Toyota wheels. I will attempt loading an image of the BJ70 with the tires mounted from May (GSMTR). If the image does not make it, this was my first attempt at a posting an image so please accept my apology if I mis-step.

Right on, they look good on your truck... what are you running for lift? I imagine due to their skinniness they tuck inside the wells good?

Yes the tires tuck nicely into the wheel wells; slight rubbing on the inside of the rear wheel wells. On the 70, I think I could run 34x10.5s with only a little bit more rear rubbing. On my 40 which has ~2.5 inches of suspension lift, but stock otherwise; I think the 10.5s would be too wide.

The BJ70 has the 3B with the ATX turbo. It is not a race car, but that is not what I am looking for so I am very satisfied with the performance. The suspension is OME springs, shackles and shocks so I am estimating the lift at 2 1/2 inches to 3.

Nice .. with this turbo, boost controler and pyro gauge you can push it much more .. you will be surprised with the 3B ..

Yes the 3B will really get and go with the turbo, but I have the fuel volume turned down in favor of a better economy-over-power compromise. She currently sees a max of 10 psi and intermittant exhaust temps peaks of ~1100 deg F (such as going up a hill at speed with temp drop-off as soon as the hill is crested).

I have considered turning up the boost a little since most of my drives yield short duration operation at 8-10 psi with the majority of the operation being in the 2-6 psi range. But I am so happy with the truck, that I have not put in the time to research if this would be the right thing to do and required adjustments.
 
Hi, I have just got a HJZ79 2007 Model with comes with the new face. This is the exact tire i want to get. Do I need a new suspension for these tires or could i keep the original sus. Can i also use 10.5 X 34 X 16 TSL.
 
Be careful with those tires. They require a 6" rim. Well nobody runs a 6" rim so they put them on 7,8,9" rims. IF youre going to air that tire down much at all you better have bead locks because they WILL pop off the rim.

Nice tire otherwise.

I run Toyota 15 inch steel wheels on my truck with the 34x9.5 TSL tires. As I recall, these wheels are ~6.5 inches. My nominal tire pressure on the trail is 15 psi; it provides good side wall flex with the tread contouring/gripping the ground. I have never popped a tire bead at this pressure with these tires. Once when I was down to ~8 psi with these tires, I did pop a bead on the trail. Therefore, your individual parameters (truck, wheel geometry, driving style/requirements, ...) will determine the suitability of tires like these for you and your need for bead locks.
