I just finished a big driving trip up to Newfoundland and Labrador Canada a few weeks ago. The 80 performed almost flawlessly (only problem i had was the sunroof now refuses to close). After living in the truck and pushing it pretty hard for those few weeks, the check engine light came on as soon as got back.

I took it to have the code read and it came back with codes 25 & 26 pulled. When i asked what needed to be done, the mechanic said it needed a new manifold. Upon further research it turns out it doesn't need the manifold itself but

...but two front pipes are cracked. The pipes, corresponding sensors and gaskets need to be replaced. Does anybody know what parts these are or have a diagram i can reference?

What year and model so we all know which advice to give you?

In the upper right hand corner, do a search for "code 25" and read the threads it comes back with. You don't need a "new manifold". You probably have a cracked exhaust pipe (that can be welded by a local exhaust shop for about $25.00) and second, you may need to replace your O2 sensors or at LEAST clean the wire plug connectors and fill them with dielectric grease and put them back together. Replace them in pairs (expensive) but it will reduce future problems as well.

Whatever you do, do NOT unscrew the screws on the AFM (or MAF or whatever it officially is) on the intake hose between the air filter canister and the intake hose going to the throttle body under the hood. I you do (or any random shop does this), it will cost you $500 to replace it.

sounds good, after looking at it the manifold itself seems fine but the pipe to it is rusted out. Looks like i will have to replace that. I replaced o2 sensors recently so hopefully those just need to be cleaned. I will relay the message to the shop i'm working with. Hopefully i can be back on the road soon, thanks for the help!
