Check engine is this a big deal??

So my wife was driving and this pops up. I will take it to the dealer and see what’s going on since it’s still under warranty. An ideas of this is a big deal??

So do a visual, open the hood and look around with a flashlight. Maybe a hose off, maybe some rodent was snacking on some wires, sometimes the problem is pretty obvious.

What a horribly-non-specific warning...

Use anOBD2 reader (or borrow one) and see what codes it shows, if any after doing a scan.

I don’t have one it’s still under warranty I’ll probably take it into the dealership sometimes I don’t know how much I trust them. After I take it in I’ll report back...it’s a 2018 8speed wondering if that has something to do with it

It's still under warranty. Take it to the dealer. Not a big deal.

Please let us know the problem the dealer found.

I have no idea if this advice is relevant, but if you recently gassed up, check your gas cap to make sure it’s on and tight.

I was thinking of that. Also, that warning is so generic, right out of the manual. Does not mean ignore but the sky is probably not falling.

I can’t speak for other 3UR v8 Toyota’s but all 200-series seem to do this once warmed up. Totally normal.

Yup mine too. When i first got it, it made me check the oil level like 5 times the first week owning it!! LOL

I see a "Call Dealer" on your screen. Can they read the codes remotely? My washing machine has WiFi so they can diagnose problems over the internet.

Warranty aside, most auto parts stores will read your code for free

So I have this mistrust with dealers, I took it to my buddy who owns a shop, owners owns a lx570 to hooked it up to the OBD machine....

gas cap wasn’t all the way tightened. Dodge a bullet with that one lol
