If the bolts are turning but not coming up, i'd be concerned that you have spun them off the nut plates. If that's the case, then you can probably just lift that part at this point (might have to break away some glue/sealant). Of course, then you will have to deal with the nut plate situation. Or it wasn't attached right when you got to it, and who knows what's holding it on. I would lift before i removed the bolts to see if you get lucky and the plate is still attached to at least one of the bolts. Possibly the plate came unclipped from bottom of the roof panel and so the act of spinning the bolt is just lowering the nut plate.

i was very careful with all the nutplates and used the extra M8 in there to hold in place

whoever messed with the corner (13mm instead of 12mm) did a number

it’s definitely not lifting

got to meet my neighbor @777Gage who gave me the side steps of his car. One of mine the piece is missing, so I will use one of his on the car now - for the kids.

Saw his gorgeous truck and definitely need some sliders in the very near future.
