Tr seems ro be giving alpha equipt wheels away!
couldn't help myself either. Picked up some of their 17" wheels for $127 a piece. Couldn't resist, just don't tell the wife lol

I love threads like this.
Beautiful rig, a testament to the fact that mileage isn't everything. If you take care of a Land Cruiser, it will last forever.
Maybe in the future, such prices for 200s might be considered impossible for non abused examples...
Cheaper than many older but not better land cruisers....
Enjoy it.

yup love me 5 spoke.

i would love this F5 - https://www.stealthcustomseries.com/products/f5

but a 9 inch width + 25 mm has me scared as I dont want to be tundra bro dozer with massive wheel stickout

I currently have 18x9 with +25 mm offset wheels with 285/65/18 rubber on them. They go right to the edge of the fenders, but don't really stick out, maybe a few mm. Certainly not 0 offset of the negative that the brodozers run.

Having had lots of miles on 100s and 200s I know the answer to it. But since you asked it, I wanted to see what others thought. 8 hours yesterday, we swapped drivers on fireroads/offroad/mud/highway betwen 100 and 200. I had 4 friends drive both vehicles.

Consensus was, they all thought the 100 "felt smaller"

On the hills, they really liked the 5.7 of the 200 power.

Both trucks are exactly stock. 100 had K02 and 200 had General Grabbers. Both sets of tires are less than a week old.

Interestingly, they all preferred the steering of the 200. They all preferred the comfort of the 200 (they felt less beat up). They all preferred the power of the 200, and they all preferred how silent the 200 motor was.

Personally, I like the design and more intimate interior feel of the 100. BUT, if I were to have one truck, 200 it is for me, everyday.
Thats awesome that you extended the question to your friends.
I have to concur that I like the interior feel of the 100 more. The 200 feels much less like a truck in terms of ride quality, but definitely not size. I do like the power, and features that come with 200 though.

If were talking about what brings the most joy to drive, well that's the 80 hands down among the three for me. Despite not being as comfortable, quiet, or easy to drive. It's been my go-to, despite having a choice between all 3 everyday.

wheel photo shop time…. opinions welcome and appreciated

I am guessing you want to stick with 18" since you just purchased the Genral Grabbers. However, Nomad wheels make some really cool looking options available in 17". I have the 503 Sahara in copperhead on my 200. You can see photos of it in my build thread link below.

Thank you so much. I think when you buy a used car, buying the owner is equally important. My wife always has the newest LC/LX, but I think its fun to see a 100k HE rig/LX next to a 18K rig, and see there isn't a world of difference and can still be enjoyed similarly.

Ironically, this 200 is MUCH cheaper than all my other much older LC's (except the cheap 100 I got recently).

Appreciate the nice words. My point in posting this thread was, there are good 200s out there, which can be done on a budget.

You gotta post a photo :)

I need to find me an offset calculator to compare a:

1) x9 + 25, (2.87 inches further out than stock) vs a

2) x8.5 +40mm. (1.6 inch further out than stock)

Long story. Don't want to bore you. I really wanted to do a poverty spec GCC build (still may happen). Thus I knew that was 18s only. Thus I got the tires already.

When I shopped the 17s first (Nomad/Fifteen52 wheels), given they were all +0 I kinda was scared about it.

Well wifey joined the party and doesn't like steelies. So I am back on wheel hunt. As you correctly said, given I just bought new tires in 18s, I need to stick to 18" wheels to save a few bucks.

The reason I extended the questions to my friends is I am biased, thus figure some outside opinion would be helpful.

Personally for me my favorite LC is my 60/62. I love to drive my 60, but the 62 is better looking. If we had the S American 62 body with the 5 speed MT that would be ideal for me. Till then, I keep both of them around. My 60 has been my go to all the time, and I truly cherish those machines.

THe 200 essentially feels like a LS Lexus that can offroad. Sometimes after a long day, or maybe old age, I have much more appreciation for that. The power and features are really appreciated on the 200.

Just remember, the wheel width doesn't really affect this number. The tire is the widest part of the equation, so if you put the same size tire on a 8" or 9" wheel, the Tire is what is going to set the max distance out, therefore it won't be any further on the 9" wheel vs the 8" wheel. Offset moves the center line though, so offset will move the tire out.

Aah that is very helpful! I am running 275s.

We are cut from the same cloth. I really wanted to poverty spec on our white 200. I even got a free set of 5 tundra steel wheels from a friend and was about to paint them silver. Then I shared the idea with my wife who is the primary driver of the 200 and she nixed the idea. I was also worried about the 0 offset but I am happy with the decision overall.

Ive never owned a 60/62 but its definitely a future plan. Having owned an LS460 I can confirm that it doesn't feel too dissimilar to a 200.

We definitely are similar in that aspect ! What did you do with your free steelies? Interestingly steelies are super hard to find (unless you buy them refurbished online)

If you are in LA, come drive mine. Currently have 5 60/62 in the Barn, take one out. We have had quite a few LS over the years (90,98, 05 LS430 was my fave, 13 LS600hL).
