Well, since the '08 season has officially ended . . .

. . . let the '09 season begin.

I hope Merriman will be playing in full force this season. I think our defense needs him. :p

Haha. I forgot the '08 season thread was renamed to '09 (for some reason).

Now there are two '09 threads!!

Bigger question - how long will the Chargers play at Qualcom and when will the courtship with LA start for real as a negotiating tactic with San Diego?

Well the real front runner as far as other cities courting the Chargers I would say that San Antonio is the front runner.

Wow - hadn't heard that one - football of any type is huge in Texas. Can they support 3 NFL teams tho? San Antonio is a huge and growing area that's for sure.

I can't believe that the NFL would completely abandon SoCal.

Well...anything in the Coliseum is just a flipping joke as is the Rose Bowl. Both are aging stadiums that don't fit the NFL needs and I don't think there's anyone up here ready to pony up the billions for land and a new stadium.

I also just read a story on Cromartie and he actually had a fractured hip the whole season. HOPEFULLY that is why he was soooo pathetic this season!!

Oh and the author had a pretty good line in the story. "Hips are pretty important for cornerbacks in the NFL; almost as important as they are for Elvis impersonators, contortionists, and adult film stars."

Getting rid of LT would just be plain stupid.

Wow a broken hip. That would explain a lot. He was pretty much absent this season.

Haven't heard of anyone actually leaving yet. Last year there were releases right away.

Ok, changed the old thread back to 08 and locked it so now it's ready only. I guess we can just keep it around for reference? Thanks for starting a new 2009 thread and keeping the board organized :)
Are you going to lock and change the title of the '07 thread??

If you don't, it will feel left out. :flipoff2:

Yup but LT said he has only heard rumors about being traded until he hears something from management he will prepare this off season to play for the Chargers.

Yeah I now somewhat feel bad about all the things I yelled at my TV about him.

Two assistant coaches have been canned and two have not had their contracts picked up.
