Charcoal canister bypass? (1 Viewer)

Cut the canister in half. Drill out the 2 ball bearings in the valves and tape it back together using self sealing tape. Replace charcoal if you want. Mine is empty. Passes smog no problem. Drives normally.

The problem is that I don't have the canister or associated hardware anymore. Just a hard line poking up in front of the firewall...

Ok. If you don't have to do visual smog, I would just run a hose from the fire wall to the valve under the intake manifold and bypass the charcoal canister all together. Drove like that daily for a year when my canister stopped working. Didn't have any problems that way. I'm in california so eventually i had re-install the canister for smog.

Everyone still running tip top after bypassing the CC? I know a guy that's interested....of course I would never encourage this behavior myself.
