So you guys should make it up to the Jasper Exit say around 8:30 - 9:00? I have a tan FJ60.
Unless something happens between now an then....I'll wait on you guys at the Jacks resturant...at that exit. Its less than 1/2 mile from I-65 on the left as you head west on Hwy 69 towards the RV park. Can't miss it.

I would like to go to the Telico event but not prepared for that just yet. I'm not a rock crawler but would like to try moderate trails and whatever else...excluding the "HD Rock stuff"..

So who is coming tomorrow? Are you going to be able to meet at the Walmart?

I'm in.

Hey guys just joined the forum. Looking forward to meeting ya'll. missmy60 is coming up, but is going to ride with someone. By the way who allhas CB's and if so what channel?

runs I've been on...which has only been a couple...channel 4

I'm still going.

On another topic...Does anyone going tomorrow have a spare fuel gauge for an FJ60? Mine has been acting up and its jumping to full along with my temp gauge going to hot for a few seconds then it will return to normal. Does this every few minutes while driving highway speeds...read on MUD that the temp is grounded with the fuel and new fuel gauge will fix it. The fuel doesn't bother me, but the temp freaks me out even though I know its a fluke. I tried cleaning it up a little and it still does it.

So if anyone has a spare sitting around that I could just borrow for a week or so (to double check my problem), I'd appreciate it.

I drove down there this evening....about 9.5 miles from I-65. Cell phone did work at least from the pavement driving by... the area down there is known for crappy cell phone coverage. I have verizon ..JUST FYI.

I'll be down there at Jacks in the AM.. Got my new battery tray and battery installed on the passenger side, but did not get to the driver side (dual setup ) yet. So I have a winch...but its not powered yet...kind of just sits out there on the bumper waiting for power.. I have a pull strap so hope someone has an "operational" winch in the group.

I can't make it today. Work has been busy all week, so I never got my truck together for this weekend. I have to work this morning since we are having this balmy weather. :D

Y'all have fun and take some pictures to post. Hopefully, I'll be able to make the next trip.

Please pass the hat and collect some donations for the Rescue Tellico Fund. If you can't make it, donations can be made online for the Rescue Tellico Fund.

Thanks!

had a good time...was kind of a dust bowl on the main road that carries you back through the place. Of the trails we went, eyerone made it through.. had a few minor mud events and a coupld fairly steep hill climbs. Not that many rocks. I would say that skyline area is more challenging. Looks like the park is still in process and we were told that the maps needed to be updated to reflect all the trail.

It was hot!!!!!!!!!! 96 by the time I got home around 3:00 PM. Another reason to the A/C going.

I had a great time also. It was good to meet everyone sorry I had to bail early but my daughter was hot and tired.

First of all I really H8MUD. I haven't taken my cruiser through anything that muddy in a long time as I usually try and avoid it, but when you go with an encouraging group, well...:D Most of my problems came from trying to crawl my way through instead of using momentum, but a locker and some more aggressive tires wouldn't have hurt. Thanks to everyone for being patient while I was spinning tires.

I thought this place was pretty cool. I have never been to skyline so I can't compare, but they had trails from dirt roads to rocks/boulders that were pretty nasty. I was skeptical of the FJ cruisers, but after seeing BamaFJ tackle some of that stuff on the first try, my opinion has changed quite a bit:eek:

Big thanks to the people who gave me advice and helped me get out of mud, I would have been there all day if it weren't for yall!

Hurry up and post the video of BamaFJ getting stuck.

Some pics from the ride that my daughter took.

Jeez, I need to check in here more often. I had no idea you guys were going to be there. It would have been a lot more fun to be riding with a group instead of alone. Oh well..
It was good to get to meet some fellow cruiserheads anyway. Maybe next time.

Hey guys. Had a great time riding and meeting everyone. I'll check back to see when the next ride is scheduled Let's do it again soon. I'll post up as soon as my battery recharges.

I forgot my camera so I don't have any pictures. I had a great time, I was a little disappointed at first, but once we explored for a little while we found a couple of good spots. After everyone except Clarence and me left we found a nice rocky climb at turkey hill and went back to the first "rock garden" and played around with some tougher lines. I don't know if we got any pictures there. Overall I think the park has real potential. The guys working there were awesome and took us to some unmarked trails that had recently been cut. There were several new "extreme" trails that still had tree stumps and topsoil that will be probably be good by the end of the summer when the rocks are all exposed.
