Hey now, just cause I got scraps laying around and using them on my manifold, doesn't make it a :hillbilly: Truck.:hillbilly:

Don't worry, I didn't think you did. But do you know what truck that motor was in? I have a feeling that turbo and manifold would not fit in there, as it looks like you would have to cut into the fender to get it to fit, but then right where it needed to go were the ford shock towers, so I don't think it would have worked on this truck, but then again I was only eyeballing it and I didn't want to tear into it only to find it didn't fit, plus I just want the lighter and more simple D50 turbo on there, cause I could do a quick swap from my 42 until I find another D50 Turbo.
Cheers,
Deny

that set up was in a bj60 I parted. the exhaust came through the inner fender. it was hella hokey. :hillbilly:

Finished up the manifold, and did some theiving from my 42. Now just need to complete the exhaust down pipe, and a few other odds and ends before I do the actual turbo swap onto the wagon.

Swap over the snorkel while you're at it too. :steer:

not really a one size fits all kinda snorkle

It's a cool 60 and all, but it makes me a bit sad to see the 42 turning into a parts donor.

hmm

How much for the snorkel? :flipoff2:

Well if it makes you sad, than start looking for another D50 turbo for me so i can slap it back together and run it again next summer!:hillbilly:

I have been so tempted to pull parts off the 40 (air lockers) but have resisted the temptation, right now she's still drivable.

Don't worry everybody, I am not stealing parts, I am temporarily borrowing, I needed a turbo (i don't have a lot of time right now), and am not willing to wait and hound a company that said they might get me a brand new turbo for 800, and I have tried the only junk yard in our area and they don't have a D-50 truck. So I have to wait till I find a deal and get another turbo then it all goes back on the 42.:hillbilly:

Just goes to show how much we like that old '42 of yours

Yeah I like it too and miss driving it and is the main reason I did buy another wheeling truck, because I felt bad for smashing it up on some of the trails we were getting ourselves into. However I will slowly keep patching it to keep it drivable in the summers, and once I finish all my other projects will start a frame off resto (retirement project really ;) on it. I found that it will only cost me like 200 or 300 bucks to insure it for the summer, well worth it I think.
Cheers,

blah blah blah...and once I finish all my other projects will start a frame off resto (retirement project really ;) on it.

So we'll be able to wheel our 42s together when we're wheeling around in our wheelchairs together? Something to look forward to I guess.

Well my brown 42 is my next project, so you might not have to wait till we are in wheelchairs, but then again, I am on year 3 or 4 of the mine truck, heck I can't even remember!

Don't worry I haven't forgotten.

All Stickered up! Got a few body narrowing modifications this weekend too!:hillbilly:
