cataylitic converter options

i got a 83 toy pickup with a 22r that needs a new cat. Any other options other then oem or origional?

LC Engineering sells them but I'm not sure that they are any cheaper.

Any local exhaust shop can install a high-flow aftermarket converter. Should be lots cheaper than OEM.

I bought a high flow cat that was stainless for 65.00 on ebay and figured it would last about 3 seconds and throw the check engine light but I drove it daily for about a year and a half and it never threw the check engine light due to the exhaust. That was on a jeep cherokee. I couldnt tell you if it would have passed smog or not because we dont have too worry about it in our state

I once put a Walker catalytic converter on a 87 4Runner I had once. It bolted right up, and got rid of the smell from not running a cat.

I have magnaflow

cut it off and weld a piece of tube in place of it. 22rs love free flowing exhaust.

Then recycle the old cat (toyota makes good ones) for $30-$40 and get some beer or smoke with your new found funding.

If its not a toyota OEM one, then just hollow it out and bum some beer and smoke to make up for it.

The scrap buyers love toyota cats.

That's what I run in my '85 along w/ their catback system. Same system in my dad's '92 mini and both sound great IMO.
