Does anyone recognize this carb that came with my '76 FJ40? I know the PO had this installed as a replacement, but I can't tell who makes it.

The pics show the only markings I could locate. It looks like Arram to me, but I read on another thread someone said it's a Aisin.

OEM Aisan from a ‘84 fj60. Date of mfg is March 13, 1984. You can use it on your truck, you’ll just need a spacer from the factory air cleaner to close the gap when installed.

That said does the truck still retain its entire emissions system? That will dictate the rest (mainly just the egr hose).

It's an Aisan, vacuum secondary.
Look on top for the date stamp...

From my five decades of casual observation, LOTS of rebuilders use yellow ink, as if they could tell each other apart.🤷🏻‍♂️

That just shows you have lost all sense of humor Mark, you really are dark and negative lately, dont know whats going on but its not like you, cheer up, I am well aware that others use the yellow paint, it was levity, inference, calm down Dad.

While we're on this subject can you please tell me the differences between an Aisin carb from a 74 2F and a 77 2F?
Sure, that's easy. There weren't any 74 2Fs.
There were Late F engines in 74, i got one of those.
Biggest difference, for me, is the 74 carb has a mechanical secondary and the later 2F carbs have a vacuum secondary. I'm sure there are lots of other differences for smog stuff and such but i don't know all those.
My carb was built 10/73.
