Car cranks but doesn't start

If you have a battery charger you can gimp your way to isolating the spark/no spark thing. Depending on duty cycle you either can do it on the fly with a battery box type or wait overnight with one of the ~15A charge types.

No Battery Tenders / 2-3A trickle types though.

And since you have the fuse links you have something to do while waiting - and many of us carry a spare EFI relay since they can leave you stranded. ~$20 shipped, prob cheaper on Amazon.

Then focus on your spark - fluid leaks & pumps can wait until you're running again.

If the starter makes the same rythmical sound like previous, bank on it being fine- if it just makes a higher, steady whine sound, then worry about it.

As for having 2 FZJ80's - I liked it both times I was fielding 2. Any new parts coming were put on my black 80 & then its' used parts had aplace to go if they were a salvagable item or 'hand me down' -modification.

Only reason I have the Tundra is for boat towing (22' & tandem axled) - otherwise I was happy as anything just running 2 "paid for" 80's that were more reliable than what they trade for in the used car world.

Jeeps are like a drunk hobos underwear they're cheap enough that when they sh!t themselves you just toss them and get a new a new one. That being said...I hate me some jeeps but I'd take a jeep over a Land Rover/Range Rover any day...high dollar sh!tboxes... I see early to Mid 2000 models crop up all the time for $600-900 on CL

I guess I'll have to take battery to Oreilly it's all used up not cranking anymore.

Starter seemed ok last time I tried, it sounds good (same as when car was running)

The first 6 replies were all telling you it was the fusible links!

If your 80 won't start...
RULE #1: ALWAYS look to see if the CEL comes on. If it doesn't, replace fusible links. Save hundreds of dollars and time.

Rule #2: Listen when you ask for help!
