Frame was all hand built by my buddy and I. Drawer on the right slides out. Fridge slides out on top, and two “trays” slide out beneath the fridge. Drawers are from Northern Ridge which he bought at Princess Auto. His FJ is a really nice build.

Brake line just arrived. Guess will be picking it up and installing it later today.

Parts guy said they flew it in from Cali. Was a reasonable CAN$32.

Got home too late yesterday, and was too hot. Will try this afternoon, but record temps again today. Was up to 35C yesterday in town.

Finally got to the sparkplugs. I know these were changed waay back. Not too bad looking.

Truck seems to run/idle much better with the new plugs. Got distracted and cleaned up the air intake hose and re-installed the Lexus plastic plug wire covers which I must have removed last time changed the plugs. Managed to mangle the Lexus symbol on the front cover.

You need to drive it more and get it up to temp.

Burning oil, lots of carbon, wrong plugs. Get the OEM plugs next time?

Not burning any oil. Runs rich a lot of time as it keeps going into limp mode. Lots of emissions related codes. That’s why I need to tackle any exh leaks and maybe replace the O2 sensors.

Got my idler pulley from Aussie land already!

Also got the special tool for the rear axle.

Got the brake line out without too much trouble. Fitting at the tee was easy and not seized. The one next to the rubber line going to the caliper came off with heat and PB Blaster, although I had pre-soaked it for a while. Got the clamp soaking in some Evaporust. Will bleed it once the kiddo comes back from her western riding competition. Next is popping out the rear PS cargo window.

Going to order this and clean up the mess of accumulated oil on the front of the engine when I replace the pulley and belts. Will pull the rad, condenser, and also touch up any rust spots.

Was going to connect the bleeder hose, then noticed this booger thing.

I vaguely recall destroying the bleeder valve due to it being seized. At the time, I cobbled something up to plug it. Began to panic thinking how the hell am I going to now bleed the brake. Then, it hit me. Check out my box-o-parts. Sure as $hit. New bleeder valves, hose, and clips. Damn! I’m an idiot. Purchased all this back in 2016. It has basically been since then since I did any maintenance on the old girl. A true testimony to Toyota engineering/ quality.

New brake line, bleeder, and retaining clip installed. Pads are almost finished. Think I have some new ones. If I do, will install them as well.

Got the rear cargo window out as per Phil’s YT vid. Dirt/rust behind the interior panel was kind of what I expected. Rust behind the window was worse than expected.

Of course. Why not. At least I was clever enough to cut this out when my buddy scrapped an HDJ81.

Will start with drill out the spot welds.

Here goes nothing. Cutting at the bends to reduce warping to hide the welds as well.

That wasn’t too bad. Guess I cut through the sunroof drain?

A bit more trimming and it should be good. Ended up cutting on the wrong side of the tape half way across the bottom. Hopefully, I can fill the gap with weld.
