So much good information on here.
After I did mine, I drove around for awhile and then checked the preload on the wheel bearings again.
 
Oh, and X100 on getting someone to help that's done it before. It will save you SO much time. See if you can bribe someone in your area with beers. Just have them sit there and tell you what to do.

any change after you drove around? Do you need to double check this or just cautious? (this is on my to do list)
 
when you remove the cone washers be sure to leave the nuts screwed on the end so when you hit it the outside with a brass hammer the cone washer doesn't fly off. Once they are all popped out you can then remove them easily. 48 hrs shouldn't be a problem but when you realize you'll only spend 10 actual hours of work your cutting it close. good luck.

Lots of good advice here. I still wouldn't count on driving the truck to work on Monday if this is your first knuckle job and you are doing it solo. Plan on getting one side done and if Murphy doesn't show up to help you can start the other side.

I don't know about you but Murphy fawkin lives in my garage. :lol:
