My wife would like step in say that she won't be working any extra shifts and that the plates will be just fine in this application.

She would like to point out that we located the arms to fit the 60 and center the wheels in the wheel well with a slight lift.

Hopefully I can still get gears.

What gears? I have a stray 4.56 set that would fit the rear.

I went and read the caster thread. It does move the face of the pinion back .49", Landtank's - .33".

Pics below, courtesy of Christo.

Slee's plates, everything rotates on one of the bolt holes...

Landtank's, which rotate around the axle's center...

I like that pinion angle better than what I have now (mine looks like these pics) - should be able to run 80 in 4wd. Slee's are easier to install and cheaper.

That's what I was thinking, but...

after consulting with the sister-Hybrids shop, the 4:1 t-case gears are a more responsible use of my wife's hard earned money.

I would get 4:1 low range, vs. the stock's 2.28, and the 10% under drive in high range would put me inline with 4.56's, perfect for 35's.

Sounds like a no-brainer for the slight up charge in cost.

It is clear that I need more sponsors.

Vendors - please contact me about ad rates/product placement in this and future threads:grinpimp:

Wow, this thread has blown up. Cameron has done an awesome job and it has been fun to help out at 3-6 hybrids

As far as the castor goes, it will be interesting to see what the number really is as his control arms are probably mounted lower in relation to the axle than the 80 series (almost like MAF drop brackets). We need to measure the angle and compare with mine next time I am over there.

That's cool...I was wondering about the possible differences in frame mount location last night when thinking about the caster. Interested to hear how they compare.

If I went out and got my hands on a book written entirely in LATIN, and sat down to read it, i think i would understand more of what's being said in that book than i understand about what's going on this thread :bang:

Can't wait to see it finished Cam.

Cool Slee CAD work - just keep in mind these are likely nominal parts; don't get interesting until tol stack ups and nonlinear deflection analysis comes into play. Christo probably has a seat of ANSYS hidden away in the back office and is just keeping it on the down low.

Knock Em Out Cam! This thread is a blast to watch and I'm in awe of your cut and fit skills.

Thanks! In the spirit of borrowing from other builds... we all know about Project X² - I might call this 'Project Control X/Control V'.

Is it too late to three-link it? :flipoff2:

Cool stuff man. Doing the same eventually but using the whole frame.

Ha! Let me know when you want to come by and do that!

I've been following your thread on that. The whole frame swap is definitely the ideal route to go, especially if you do the motor and everything at the same time.

My time/space/patience only allow for a gradual evolution of the truck, so the frame swap didn't work. And the thought of re-doing the motor swap on top of that was a motivation killer.

I've got about 4 solid days into it at this point (spread across various weeks). One or two more and the front will be done.

*If* my plan works in back, it should go much faster.

That's the tourist part of Memphis though. Have you seen Hustle & Flow?:grinpimp:

Speaking of Three-6 Mafia, I ran into Project Pat at lunch. He's been following the build and had some good ideas for chopping and packaging the rear coil buckets.

Project Pat at some Huey's! It is amazing the stuff that has went down in that carport. I hate I am not in town to help.

Seeing that pic of Andrew makes me feel old.

Like the Super D welding shopping cart?:hillbilly: Without a doubt the finest custom vehicle we have turned out to date.
