Not much of a gain with the painting. It would depend on cost, amount of work and look if it were mine. I would focus more on the look of the rear at the hatch. FWIW

The thought on paint is not so much visual but to reduce heat gain.

I like the look of the all white. However, as soon as you paint it you will always be checking the finish for scratches. I prefer the not-to-worry factor of unpainted aluminum finish. Tough choice. You can always paint it later. Unpainting is hard. Also, after you paint it you will probably want to re-paint it at some point, Especially, if you like to stand on it.

Did you guys kiss and make up?

Function trumps form - Go all white - Repaint as needed.

Oooh. I like the all white.

Me too - if youre concerned about scratches from walking on it, paint everything white, then do a thin white bedliner material for traction and help against wear (just on the very top)

Or just throw down your old break-dancing mat when youre dancing around up there :grinpimp:

I say go for the all white option. The bare aluminum is going to get crazy hot in the sun. You could forgo the manifold burrito cooker, and just put them in the pop up.

If it is purely for heat then white would be the choice but again I think the benefit would be minimal. I would keep it as is.

I'd go with all white. The other two painted options give the whole package odd lines.

Why not Plasti Dip spray it in white? Cheap enough and DIY. If you change your mind just peel it off. If it gets scratched up, peel it off and paint again.

I'm about to play with Plasti Dip on my stock wheels, tired of black on black, it's everywhere now. And also figured out color scheme for the FJ wheels I got for when I go to 37's. :)

What he said.

Paint all white including the gutter clamps

Sounds like all white is pulling ahead for the win. I don't mind the black clamps on all white. I remember looking in the rear view and picturing the front white and black sides but it does look funny at an angle.
I think I'm going to paint my own black on bottom and leave the upper silver. Green and black truck so...

I vote for all white with a "LandCruiserPhil Special Edition" added to the rear side panel. Awesome looking addition.

Full white means disassemble of the CampTeq:eek: in order to paint, correct? Is this recommended by the manufacture?
