I am looking for small good quality video camera that can stream a live feed wirelessly. this is for a inspection rover (a remote controlled car with camera for tight places.) I was originally looking at the go-pro hero 3 but I have been informed by someone who has one that it cannot stream to a phone but only can be termed on and off. Is this true? Do you know any other options? There is more info on this build in the RC section of this forum. thanx!

I thought about that. And just use screen shots for pictures. I don't think the video will be quite good enough to learn anything from. Also we need to be able to send this info to our customers. Ether way. I am going to give my go pro a try on the prototype car that we have to see what kind of picture i can get out of it in there. I will definitely strap the iPhone to it and see what i can get out of it.

For Facetime the iPhone will require a wifi network or a data plan that will support it. The iPod will definitely require a wifi network. Not a problem if you're doing this in a plant, but could be an issue if you're trying to do it out in the field.

You need to check out the FPV section on www.rcgroups.com They have all kinds of camera setups mainly for helis/quadrotors and planes, but there has to be vehicle ones on there.
