I’m sorry to say it’s time to part with my VX diesel JDM Landcruiser .
The cruiser has been my haul and light tow vehicle for the last 15 years, I was a strength coach and trainer and the Landcruiser was my faithful assistant to get me and my equipment to training grounds. I’m sad to say she has seen very little off-road use but has taken my family and I on many road trips and back with never a complaint.

I imported this vehicle directly from Japan and she has been in my garage exclusively since then, Pro Active automotive here in Calgary has done any major work she needed, although that was very little.

The Cruiser is in excellent mechanical shape but does have some rust on the lower doors and fenders. She is a great candidate for a restore as she has only 264000 km on her and most of those were doing her job to get people and kettle bells to the desired location.

But if you are looking for a Landcruiser to get you deep into the woods and out again she won’t let you down.

Looks like this has a fuel heater. I hardly see those in HDJ81s. Nice!!
GLWS!

Appears to be an unmarked snow version truck. Both my HDJ80 and HDJ81 carry the fuel heater option. Rather than a true fuel heater, this is really just a large resistor which heats up when the glow plug system steps down the voltage for afterglow. A clever design.

I haven't really noticed a difference between the trucks that have it and the ones that don't, as far as functionality goes, I don't think it does much.

I can tell you the fuel heater up in Canada makes a big difference. This 80 has the 24 volt starter, fuel heater and glow plugs all great for the -20 Celsius starts.
