I need a little help from my fellow Cruiser heads. I have a pair of cable locked 70 axles going into my 78' FJ45. I need some pictures of what the original lever mount looks like so I can make one for my truck. Thank you in advance for your help!

Thanks Trox! That's what I needed to see. It looks like it mounts to the bottom of the dash?

Thanks Alberto that helps a lot. Now I just need to search for a bracket.

I have one! In fact I have the levers and some cables as well from a BJ74 (so I was told.)

Pm me if your interested. May be able to get it to Tuscaloosa next month (in Japan now)

Pete thanks for the offer, but I had the levers and cables already. Once I found out what I needed I was able to source it pretty quickly.
Do you travel to JP often?

Thanks,

I live in Japan- about 13 years now. I was born in Huntsville and my Mom and her family are all in Tuscaloosa so I get back there every year with my kids for a visit. Last time I was in Huntsville I was amazed at how much it had changed! My family's house was on Pratt. They built it themselves. I remember it fondly. I was surprised to see how done up that area is now.

Getting back on track- anyone have pics of where the cables run under the truck??

Interesting. I was born in Japan (military brat) and left when I was young. I have lived in Huntsville for almost 19 years. This town has changed just since I have lived here. I can imagine how it has changed for you over the years.

But back to business indeed. If your cables were from a 60 I would be interested in them. As I have concerns of cable length when transplanted into a 45 chassis.

If you make it up to Huntsville look me up we can talk Crusiers. My cell is two- five-six 508-9282.

Thanks,

Pete,
Sorry it took so long for my reply, I read your entire thread. Wow! Awesome rig, beautiful family, georgeous country and magnificent artistry!! You sir are one blessed man. I really enjoyed your thread. Thanks for sharing your life with the Cruiser community known as Mud. I hope we can meet in person one day. I think I might have missed a couple of items though. What are those rear seats from? They seem so perfect for your application. I also think I missed the cable install for the lockers.

Great thread, thanks again for sharing.

Michael,

I just haven't gotten to the cables yet. There's some pictures of the cables themselves in the build thread but they have not been installed. I'm still waiting for one lever that seems th be lost in the mail.......

I have a separate thread on the seats I'll see if I can find it. They are third row seats out of the Honda stream. They were not easy to use because the bottom of them is not level right to left.

Hope to meet up someday as well!
