Anyway, I put ebay listing cause it may go up. But honestly as you know this price I will lose. So if you are serious then I could go for $30,000 and its yours.

I suggest you come down, drive it and then decide. I think for this tank which is very low price and low miles (40,000 miles/70,000 km) is a very good deal.

Should i buy this abused HDJ 101?

Got a serious question for you, saw a 1998 HDJ101 with a 1HD-FTE and buggered gearbox this morning, interior was filthy, car had been parked for a long time, how long I don't know



I put in some diesel & my 2 batteries from my cruiser and pumped the fuel suction pump and she started straight up, smoking was a little white smoke at low rev's & when my foot was flat, some dark smoke but nothing serious. Mileage was 290,000 km

Center console and key system and basic fridge latch etc was bad, owner wants 14.5k & these go for between 20 & 45k here for that year, closer to 20k for that mileage



The turbo has a lot of oil around it and there is also oil around the filter area and below, any input would be good regardless from where u live

I have been quoted $4600 for a fairly new gearbox off a V8, identical except for needing new threads drilled & tapped for gear stick location, so looking at dropping offer to 10k and seeing if I can clean her up for under 20k, if I don't like her and she is clean I can always fly her for 40k

No, I didn't see it in person. I had been searching for a LC/LX for a long time and had a short list of vehicles I wanted to see. This one was not on the top of my list because I didn't like the agressive tone of his emails.
I was all in all quite a challenge to find a 100. If I can help you in any way, just let me know.

Looking at a 2000 LC with 135,000 miles. Dealer was asking almost 16k but they are down to $13,300. Carfax is clean though it has had 7 owners. Paint and leather seem to be in excellent condition. It is dark grey with the grey leather.

I agree that looks very clean. Also a very rare color, and one owner with less than 100k miles!

Price is very fair. Even without anyone here knowing it, I would go look at it in person and seriously consider.

You won't be able to tell in the LC, the steering feels completely natural on my 04.

You wont notice the VGRS at all, but I can tell the difference between my two trucks though. I prefer the older fixed gear ratio steering system.

I am seriously considering a move from my current 03 Tundra DD to a 100 series. My 60 is sticking around so I can still straddle the Steam Age and the Computer Magic Age...

Looking at a 2000 UZJ100 - 136K, no nav, 1 owner, clean carfax, for sale at a dealer in AZ for $12990. No mention is made of the TB/WP replacement but let's just assume for now that it's been done. Looks extremely clean in pics and appears to have spent its life in AZ.

NADA puts "clean retail" at $13,675 but my question for you guys is "What is a real world price for this truck?"

Doesn't sound like a terrible price from a dealer and one owner is nice. I recently purchased a 98 (wanted the factory locker) with 3 owners in good shape and only 109k on it for $11,500 and he had just put new brakes, a new windshield, a new master key from Toyota and a few other small things. I'd say on yours ~$11-$12k would be a fair deal.

Thanks for the replies. Carfax confirms it's been registered in AZ since new. It does seem like a reasonable list price for a dealer, which of course makes me a little suspicious. Also, it's been listed for about a month. Time to call and ask some questions.

Just be aware that a clean carfax doesn't mean it's led a clean life. Many accidents go unreported. Be sure to have a 3rd party check it out.
