@Umarali: I would worry about rust on all 3 of those. If #3 is that beat to sh!t in the pictures, imagine how the previous owners took care of the maintenance. I would not buy without inspecting in-person, but everyone's risk tolerance is different.
Thanks for ur valuable input, yes rust is very significant factor in decision... I really want to be able to inspect myself first too but the only one close to me already has very high miles on it
2000 LX, $15k - thoughts?
Hey everyone - long time since I've posted. I'm in the market for a LC or LX 100 series. Want to sty below $17k. I found a river rock green 2000 LX, 99k miles with all 90k service done; 1 owner, very good condition. I've talked the Ford dealer down to $15k, but want it for $14.5. What do you all think?

$14.5k is on the mark. Beware of the potential transmission issue with 2000MY. With those low of miles it might not have reared it's ugly head yet.
Thanks, Anthony. Will be careful re transmission inspection. I've also seen a gold, 2001 LX, 77k, for $15k. Were the same transmission issues present in 2001's? The 2001 has the Levinson too and is being sold by a Lexus dealer. Any advantage to having a 2001 other than stereo (if that is one)?

Only 2000. No significant differences I know of worth noting between 2000 and 2001.
May go for 2001 if both check out though it is further away...

Pass on #3 for sure, not worth dealing with the miles. I would be wary of buying any East Coast truck, especially sight unseen. Photos can be very misleading, know this from experience.

#1 appears to have rear diff lock but no rear AC
#2 does NOT appear to have rear diff lock. Dealer is probably saying it has Center diff lock, which they all do.

hmmm thats a good point, #1 doesnt have rear ac i didnt think of that one.
thanks for the advice, im also not a very big fan of high miles, but i thought maybe this one will be different but theres no service record means high risk

I can say I bought a 2 owner truck spent its whole life in south and central Alabama and have had no issues with rust. Turned up my torsion bars a month ago with a breaker bar with no problem (no PB blaster or anything). Don't know if you are including the south in your "east coast" statement but I think the south is fine as the worry seems to be the salt in the winters up north.
Need boards advice: just sold my 06 100 that was my DD and now looking to buy an older (cheaper) one for the very occasional weekend camping trips and road trips from SoCal to Park City. Im not in a hurry to buy, as the next year + of my life is going to be all work, but i would like to have a LC for the family weekends, plus right now there seem to be a plethora hitting the market at good prices. Eventually want to turn it into an expo rig with ARB or Slee Blueberry front, WK sliders, and either ARB or BIOR rear bumper (Slee doesnt allow the customization/removal of their carriers which i want). My 06 had AHC which i loved, but long term have the $$ concerns. Here are three rigs that im really thinking about pulling trigger on (ive ruled out 00 and older and am looking at 01-03, preferably with no nav):
01 LC with 103k miles. $13500. Full service records (90k done). Immaculate. No AHC or nav. Bone stock. Silver over gray (preferred choice). With CA sales tax will be almost $14500 after TTL. Add another $5k for goodies at some point down the road.
02 LC with 210k miles. $11200 +TTL ($12k). Dual ARB, winch, Emu 2" lift, really clean (for 200k). 180k service done. Siilver/gray. Negative is miles and factory nav module. Probably looking at $2k for new leather/carpet to make primo.
01 LX with 140k miles. Very clean. Has AHC. Charcoal over gray (2nd color choice). Nicer LX interior. No factory Nav (a plus in my opinion). $12800 registered. Add $5k for goodies at some point down the road
All SW trucks, zero rust.

03+ plus without NAV is a unicorn, you aren't going to find one easily in the US. Best stay with 01-02 and the non-NAV option. Downside is 4-speed tranny and slightly less HP/TQ. Make sure you drive the 01-02 and you are ok with the difference. I drove both and decided I couldn't live without the 5-speed. Also if you put larger than 33's on the 01-02 you are going to have to regear, not so much with the 5-speed.
Out of the three vehicles you listed above, I would take the 1st (01 LC). Low miles, good service records, non-NAV, your color preference. I really don't see the question.

Thinking about a 100 series
I've owned a LX 450 for about eight years and thought I might move up to an LX 470. I Just found a 2001 LX 470 on craiglist for 4000.00 with a bad motor. I spoke to the owner, he said that it had 220,000 miles on it before the oil pump went out and blew the motor. Thought this might be a good winter progect. Does this sound like a good deal? What are other issues with should I be concerned with with a high mileage LX 470.

Blown motor? That sure is unusual.
In fact, I have not ever heard of a 2UZ-FE seizing-up.
I am sure it would seize if you ran it out of oil,
but it is not a common mode of failure for a 2001 LX.
Others will have more experience than me, but I suspect "the oil pump went out and blew the motor" is not the whole story.
If it is actually a seized engine, and you have a machine shop, and experience rebuilding japanese V8s, then it might be a good deal.
You could buy an 01 LX w 220k mi and nothing wrong with it for about 10 grand.
