The 100 is a better capable vehicle imo, I would get the 100.

I own an 80 and a 100. (both auto, both gas)

the 80 is way better off road. period. on road, not so much. gas milage is pretty bad for both, but I'm guessing you're talking about diesels, so this is moot for you.
the 100 is way better on road. way, way better. they can be set up to be capable off road though. If I could only own one I'd (cringe) sell the 80 and build the 100 into a modest wheeler.

I guess the main reason for the 80 is heavy (heavy!) offroad use with the solid axle. All other points likely go to the 100 series.
Growing up with manual I'd not mind it.

w/o mileage info, pics, current condition info, maintenance done, ... it boils down to use case.

Regardless for me if the 100 is gas V8 or inline 6 TD, I’d go for manual since my use is 95% onroad. Driving automatic transmission in the trails is much better not burning out the clutch on an MT.

I've driven a manual 60 and an auto 80 at Cruise Moab. The 80 was more capable and a lot more fun. Solid axle/Coil Springs/Locker/Auto is just superior for real wheeling. The hundred has way better road manners and is buildable to say 85% of what an 80 can do offroad. It really just depends on your desired focus.
